Quit working after very little use

I bought a combo kit containing this tool in the summer of 2017. At first I loved it. Then while using it a few weeks ago, it just stopped working. I changed out the battery for a fresh one, still no luck. The light on the tool lights up, but the tool will not function. I have used this tool very little, maybe 3 batteries worth of use at the very most. Very handy tool, love the fact that it is cordless!

Quality tool

Perfect size and shape, great value, cordless is the way to go and porter cable is the brand to choose long battery life plenty of power.

smoked up right out the box

Have multiple Porter Cable products, and this was the first to let me down. I popped in the battery and as soon as I turned it on engine was locked and then the smoke started coming. Returned product back to Lowe's for a refund, and will not buy again.

Multipurpose Time Saver

Just purchased the Porter Cable Oscillating tool for a bathroom remodel and it's paid for itself already. It's very useful in tight spaces and seems to be well built. The various attachments available for the tool and the quick change feature means you don't have to break out every tool in the arsenal to complete the task at hand.

Great for the price

Works great. Somewhat loud but that should be expected since it vibrates. Doesn't come with a battery.

Sturdy and Quick

This does the job, and feels surprisingly quality given the price. My existing battery lasts as long as I can handle and the tool works quick, with lots of uses.

I bought 2 of these and after a few hrs of light use (not continuous )they began to cut out while running,I tapped the battery and it would go again for a bit then cut off again,did this for a short while before they would no longer come on,the blades wore out like they were made of paper etc.I will try Dewalt next.By the way I opened one failed unit up to see if I could solve problem,it was very dusty inside,I cleaned dust out thoroughly and it worked again,but I DON'T TRUST IT NOW/DO NOT WANT ...

Never knew I needed one of these

Got this tool in a combo pack and used a couple times around the house over the past year. Recently redid a bathroom demo to study/joists and back and used this tool every step of the way; clean and accurate cuts on wood, pvc, and copper pipe. Slices through dry wall allowing cleaner demo and cutouts when putting walls back up... no complaints and got one for father-in-law this Christmas.

great tool

Purchased this model because I have 5 other Porter Cable tools. The battery is the same for all tools. The Oscillating tool is great for many uses.
