What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise the exceptional moisture-removal performance, compact design, and smart app control, with most reporting rapid humidity reduction and improved indoor comfort. Many commend its quiet operation, portability, and intuitive remote monitoring via smartphone. The 20-pint capacity performs well in basements and damp spaces. However, a notable subset reports serious durability concerns, including units stopping within months or shortly after warranty expiration, recurring coil freezing, and sudden loss of function. Some mention app connectivity challenges and difficulty switching drainage modes. Despite these reliability issues, most customers consider the performance benefits worthwhile.

Would Not RecommendOne year warranty...Well that about how long this product works give or take a few months...the cube I would not recommend
From Midea
Works great but difficult to empty.
Would RecommendThe unit (50 pt) works great. It's fairly quiet and does the job quickly and efficiently. The one drawback is the unit nests on top of the collection bucket. You have to remove the unit, which weighs about 40 lbs, to empty the bucket. The bucket holds up to 4.25 gallons of water - and water weighs about 10 lbs a gallon. This makes it heavy and cumbersome to empty. This is a mute point if you use a drain hose.
Lasted one year
Would Not RecommendLasted one year, and then the compressor gave out. Had it in a basement, set at 50.

What a difference this makes !!
Would RecommendI wanted a dehumidifier that was easy to set up and use and one the reduced to temperature and humidity in the house. This product fits the bill. Last year I only had an air conditioner and it felt like it was not enough to make it a pleasant air environment. I have had this only for a few months and what a difference this has made. It is easier to breath and the temperature is tolerable on a hot day. It is so good that I can turn off the AC and leave this uniot on and the air is still comfor...

So Far So Good
Would RecommendHave had for about a month and so far so good. Set up was easy and our basement is noticeably drier. The tank is large so you don’t have to empty often. It is nice that you can the level where it shuts off so you don’t have to empty the full tank.

works well but be ready when the warranty expires
Brilliant design and decent features. Worked great for about a year. About 3 months after the warranty expired, it began making water-dripping noises while the unit was not operating. When lifting the unit to drain the bucket, water will drain and drip from the bottom surface of the dehumidifier. No idea or suggestions offered on how to fix the problem. The unit still works fine, but the dripping noise and water draining out of the bottom surface every time I lift it out to empty the bucket i...

Died, just outside of warranty period
Would Not RecommendPurchased in Feb 2024, Died in May of 2025. Beware the warranty only covers a year. Coils keep freezing over and it's not the room temp, filters, airflow or anything I can control. It's either the auto-defrost or the compressor won't shut off. I need to find a place to service this since it wasn't cheap. My last dehumidifier (different brand) lasted over 5 years!

Not very satisfied
Would Not RecommendThis is my second unit. First one didn't work right. New unit runs a lot and seems very slow to remove moisture. I set it at 50% and it gets down to 51% and then shuts off. When I set it to 45% it never got there. App water level is not very accurate either.

Unit works well and is good to look at.
Would RecommendMy MAD50S1QWT has been running great and is an excellent design, good looking, easy to empty, and easy to use. I have set it up with my Android phone and Amazon Alexa without issue. It notified me today at work that the bucket was full. I've decided to switch to the built-in pump feature so I don't have to use the bucket anymore. I had already tested this feature and found it works great. It seems to me the same person posted all the negative reviews. Not sure why people complain about things wh...

Great product with all of the features
Would RecommendI bought two of these about 18 months ago and they are great. Everything about the design and layout is well thought out and implemented. I cannot think of anything that I would want to change. These units are 100% reliable, quiet, and energy efficient. I have some critical storage needs in my basement and they hold it at my desired 40% RH. I use the condensate pump feature, the WiFi connection, and the phone app that allows me to control and verify system operation from anywhere. I highly re...

Best so far
Would RecommendBest bucket ever for a dehumidifier. This matters because most are impossible to clean and over time all get gunky. This one will not and holds much more so don't need to use a hose.

Unit failing – just over one year old
Would Not RecommendI do not recommend Midea products. I purchased my unit in July of 2023, in September of 2024 I noticed frost forming on the coils. Since I was outside of the one-year warranty period, Midea refused to help fix or replace the unit. Prior to my unit’s issues, it was used in a basement to control humidity levels during the spring and summer. I regularly checked the filter and cleaned it when needed or prompted by the smart phone application. Midea support case: 112342179
