Worked Great - For 2 Years

I purchased this unit a little under 2 years ago to dehumidify our basement in the summer. For 2 years, it worked great. The pump feature worked perfectly. I just tried to start it for the season, and it is non functional. The compressor runs, but no dehumidification. I followed all troubleshooting steps, but to no avail. Customer service informed me the unit is out of warranty, and that I'm basically out of luck.

Great product does a good job!

Never worked even on first two days of use

I bought and had delivered from Stillwater Lowes this Midea Cube 50 pint dehumidifier. I have had it for two days now and it never cycles off regardless of the humidity level you set. I even tried their android app to control it thinking maybe its just the buttons that are defective an not the entire unit but it still never cycles off. 20 minutes with Midea customer support they said it appears it is defective and this is not how the unit is supposed to operate. Runs continuously even in set mode

I just received the unit two (2) days and let it set in the box for over 24 hours once I received it before opening it and plugging it in. The unit runs continuously no matter what humidity level you set on it. I have tried even setting at 55% humidity in a room that has 38% humidity and the unit still never turns off. I contacted Midea customer service and they had me rest it and I l already tried the mobile app to see if it was the buttons on the unit that are defective and it still never shut...

Bucket overflows when full and app can't detect fill level.

Great at removing moisture from the air. Seems to be more effective than any other dehumidifier I have used. However, in the two weeks I have used it, the bucket has overflowed twice and the unit continues to run. Yes, the unit is set to bucket mode. Also, the app does not display bucket fill level so I have to think whatever sensor detects fill level is defective. The mechanism for detecting fill level isn't obvious like most other models with a tilt switch. So 5 stars for dehumidifying, and 1 ...

Love This Dehumidifier

I am very happy with this dehumidifier so far. The instructions were not the best and it was hard to get it turned on the first time but it has been doing very well since then with no problems. It is keeping a basement dry that is about 2000 SQ ft. My previous one, USA made, really struggled to keep it at 65% and ran almost constantly until it died after 10 years. This one is much quieter, doesn't run as much, keeps the humidity down to around 40% even though I have it set at 50%. This one does ...

Stopped working two weeks after warranty expired

Used this in my basement and thought it did a good job until I found it COVERED in ice in a 60 degree basement two weeks after the warranty expired.

Lasted Two Years

Clever design. Pump worked great and pumped uphill from my basement. Kept basement to 40% humidity (vs 75% without) in continuous use for two years, then it iced up. After several attempt to power off, melt the ice, I realized it was no longer producing water, and so has died. Too bad, I liked it while it worked. Will set it in the trash and try buying a more expensive commercial unit.

Broke in a year

Does a great job when it's working. Compressor died after a year, and Midea says it's out of warranty, won't fix it.

Quality product but lousy instructions

The unit powered up and works fine. The instructions are confusing though when it comes to which buttons to hold down to put it in pump mode. There's 2 different instructions todo this. one works and the other doesn't. Also the symbol for pump mode should be in lower right but is in the upper left and is not the same symbol.

Doesn't last

I loved this machine at first, so much so, I bought a 2nd one. Then after 13 months on the new one and 22 months on the older one, both started building up frost and now neither will reach a 50% set point. When new, they reached the setpoint within a few hours. I guess it is well engineered as it lasted slightly longer than the warranty. Good reviews on this brand

It seems to be doing a good job so far. I am managing to lift the heavy bucket of water once it fills. It being on wheels is definitely a plus.I do have the option of using a hose which is a great option.

Good dehumidifier, bad customer service

It works very well at dehumidifying the air. However my unit arrived without one of the plastic clips that holds on the casters and the Midea could not send me the missing part. They told me to return the entire unit and buy a new one. There is a very simple fix to the problem however instead I will need to exchange it which is a waste of time and potentially materially very wasteful if they do not clean and repackage it with the missing part.

Easy, flexible setup

The dehumidifier was easy to set up, and the three options for removing the water (collecting and dumping it, letting it feed directly to a drain, or pumping it away) make the setup very flexible. It works well (that is, the air in the rooms is much drier) and is reasonably quiet (it is nice to have the choice of two fan speeds, for either faster drying or quieter running). Nicely designed, instructions could be better

Works well and is not excessively loud (when in low fan mode). Not so quiet that I would use it in a bedroom though. Very flexible with three different modes for water removal: manual, auto pump, or gravity drain. Pump mode instructions and behavior is unclear. I had to Google a midea video to figure out exactly how to configure it. Despite the instructions saying you will hear the pump make noise when activated, that wasn't the case.
