Would RecommendWhat attracted me to this threshold is that only the rubber seal itself could be replaced when it wore out. On the threshold currently in place the entire aluminum plate and seal needed replacement when the seal wore out. Since my application is on uneven concrete this was no trivial matter.

Would RecommendMy home is around 40 years old and this replacement vinyl threshold is the same design as the original. I removed the old vinyl and clean the aluminum threshold with a brass brush then used a vacuum cleaner to remove the debris. I inserted the new vinyl into the aluminum housing using an old butter knife. The new vinyl fit just like a glove. I do not know about the durability yet, but the material looks the same and is the same thickness. Only time will tell. Thanks Lowe's
