Not quite a drop in replacement
Bought as a replacement for an old Kwickset door knob / dead bolt assembly in an existing door - probably 30 years old. The door knob assembly was a drop in replacement, the deadbolt was not. The new bolt was somewhat larger than the one to be replaced. As I did not have the required drill bit to open up the bolt through hole, I was forced to use the old bolt but it did operate mechanically with the new bolt's escutcheon & internal lock assembly.
