Frustrated

No matter what kind of line I use it will not feed properly. I waste more time rethreading the line then any thing else. Wish I did not purchase.

Perfect for me

I was tired of pulling on gas weed eaters to get them started and pulling the rope out so decided to go with a battery operated one and it is great . A little heavy after a while but it gets the job done. Wish the battery would last a little longer as it takes me about 2 hours to do everything but i can always buy another battery. Love this weed eater.

Cannot get replacement cap

I have had this trimmer for a few months when the spool cap cracked... Lowes does not carry replacements and the part is unavailable. The tool is useless now. Spend your money on a name brand.

Poor design and no replacement parts

I have 3 issues with this trimmer. 1) The bump knob assembly just blows to pieces because it's cheap, crappy plastic. 2) It's impossible to find replacement heads or the bumper knob for this trimmer. 3) The line won’t feed out, thus the reason why the bump knob assembly wears out banging it on the ground so many times. When I call Kobalt customer service (888-356-2258), they are not taking calls due to Covid 19. Frustrating!!

Design Flaw/Defective

Everyone I know who has had this longer than six months has to replace the trimmer head because the bump knob assembly just blows to pieces because it's cheap, crappy plastic. It's difficult to find replacement heads for the trimmer, I wouldn't be surprised if Kobalt made this one intentionally obscure so no universal heads would work with it. Look around, all the reviews say the same thing. It's a shame Lowe's even sells this model.

2 seasons and its done

Would not recommend. After 2 years of use the line feed has broken, button wore out now useless.

Cant get replacement parts

Good luck getting replacement parts my spool cover broke and I can't find a replacement at any store or online and customer service wont answer.

does not feed when bumped.

This is the worst trimmer I have ever purchased. This trimmer feeds when it feels like it.This is the second season , no better. Buy different brand.

Total piece of junk

This trimmer has only trimmed 3 times successfully. Batteries didn't last more than a couple trims and cost as much as a new trimmer, Get Gas powered.

The spool is a nightmare

Had it less then six months ago. It’s hard to wind & install, tends to break off inside the spool. The new ones have a better design, this one sucks

Spool Cover cracks

The spool cover has cracked and flown off two times. You have to buy a Greenworks part, which is currently unavailable. Poorly made.and unreliable.

great product

Bought mine a few weeks ago. Easy to set up. Only used it knce but i was able to my whole yard with only half the battery. Runs very well with no issues. Not going back to gas again!

Worked fine when it did

The bump knob broke in 2 years. I can't get a hold of Kobalt warranty service. Lowe's doesn't carry replacement parts. Kobalt calls this wear and tear

Glad I’m not alone

Many of these reviews describe exactly what I experienced, verbatim. 1. Bought it, took it for a spin, loved it! 2. After fully recharging battery, upon 2nd use it wouldn’t stay on for more than 3 seconds at a time. 3. Called help line who told me to try to charge it for a full 24 hours before attempting to use it again. Batteries are garbage

battery didn't even last one season. near impossible to get anyone at kobalt on the phone. do not buy, their batteries are junk and $100 to replace.

Broke

Purchase product 40 days ago weed eater already broke down. I tried to get a replacement at lowes and they didn't replace it bc it was past 30 days

No Replacement Parts

No “customer service” and no replacement parts. Trimmer useless now and must throw it out and (grrrrrrrr) buy a new one. Won’t be buying a Kobalt product!

2nd TRY at leaving a review-TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY

After barely 3 years of fair-poor operation, the battery and/or charger will not work. The entire unit cost me around $130; the cost of buying a replacement battery inside my local Lowes is over $140.00 -- JUST FOR THE BATTERY!! How does that make sense. Other sites online show the cost after shipping, around $100.00. This was the worst piece of lawn equipment I'v ever bought.

String Constantly Breaks

This is the biggest waste of money that I have ever spent. From day 1 it breaks the string after only a few minutes of use. Over the past year or so, I have tried various brands and thickness of line and they all last only a few minutes. You can see the pressure point on the line where it comes out of the spool. I even tried spooling the line backwards just to see what would happen. After about a year of being totally frustrated I lost my cool today and broke it in half on a tree. Don't get...

Kobalt, get out of the trimmer business

If I could give this a zero I would. Have had less than a year. Plastic ground down to the metal on the bump. Line will not stay in slots, continues to jump back in housing, especially after edging. Forget edging. Have to constantly take head off to clear debris. Black molding that fits over the spool has already broke. Mind you, I didn’t have this for 3-4 years. I bought this last year. Pathetic.
