What Customers Are Saying
This diamond-coated drill bit performs well for drilling holes in ceramic, glass, and tile materials, but requires careful technique. It works best with water to keep the bit cool and clear debris, though dry drilling is more difficult and can cause faster wear. The bit can be challenging to start and keep steady, especially on smooth surfaces, but using a jig or angling the bit initially can help. The bit's durability varies, with some customers reporting multiple uses and others finding it wore out or bent after just a few uses, particularly on thicker or harder materials. Overall, with the right technique and patience, this diamond bit can create clean, chip-free holes in a variety of ceramic and tile surfaces, though for more demanding applications, a higher-quality bit may be required.

Would RecommendSuper clean cut… I was worried about a chip and having to replace the tile, but this cut in perfectly so I could place an anchor. I used this for a shower rod and worked perfectly
Good for cutting in shower heads.
Haven’t used it yet, but Lowe’s is pestering me to review it. It seems to look like every other home saw and it measures true, so no complaints. That’s all.
Worked great on porcelain tile!
Would RecommendI had to make 2 cuts for my tub and shower holes. It was difficult to line it up to the exact spot so I drilled a hole iinto a scrap piece of tile. I used it as a template and clamped it to the piece iI needed to cut. It was a perfect cut each time.
fast cutting
Would Recommendcut clean and fast with no chipping, the hole saw is rugged made and the blue paint is very durable. make sure the drill you are using has a nice chuck to keep the hole saw tight
Decent product, with limitations
Would RecommendI used this hole saw to drill a hole in a piece of ceramic tile. This style of hole saw does not have a pilot bit, which makes it very hard to start a hole in a particular location. You have to start out very slowly, holding the drill firmly. Movement will allow the bit to "walk" over your work, scarring the surface. Slow speed works best, and clear the dust occasionally. One hole did seem to remove most if not all of the diamond chips from the edge of my product, and cutting the last thir...
Simple durable product.
Would RecommendLet me be honest, I have never used a tool like this before and to be honest I’m not sure I did it correctly. however, my terra-cotta pot has the holes in it that I required. Instructions and tool or simple and it’s self easy to use, and seems pretty durable to me. Now keep in mind I am only using this as a light use very very gently making holes for my bird bath and when chimes. I think this product would be great fry crafting projects as well as home improvement.
Great product for DIY'er
Would RecommendI needed a small hole saw to bore through newly installed tile for a toilet paper holder. I wasn't certain what size hole to bore, so I ordered a 1/4" bit and a 5/16" as backup. I started with the 1/4" and it ended up working fine, so this review is based on the 1/4" size, but it would apply to the 5/16" as well. I first marked the location of the two holes. I wanted to use it wet, so I had my wife hold a wet sponge above each location and slowly squeeze as I drilled. I quickly learned that it's...
Performed as expected
Would RecommendI needed a small hole saw to bore through newly installed tile for a toilet paper holder. I first marked the location of the two holes. I wanted to use it wet, so I had my wife hold a wet sponge above each location and slowly squeeze as I drilled. I quickly learned that it's near impossible to hold a hand held drill on the target spot with the end of the bit flat against the tile. You have to start it at an angle to get your first bite, then gradually straighten the bit as it cuts. It performed ...
Good Hole Drill
Would RecommendFound it works well. Got this to work with roofing slate. The only issue is starting it with a hand drill is that it tends to walk. But once you master that it works very well

Very Good Bit
Would RecommendStarts fairly easily at higher speed at an angle. Makes a clean hole with very little chipping. Very fast to complete the cut. No noticeable wear on the bit after drilling. Wet drilling is faster than dry. Overall, a very good drill bit for ceramics.

Not the best option
Would Not RecommendDifficult to start cleanly, bit skates over the surface. Center hole fills with material and slows drilling down. Not very fast even at speeds higher than recommended. For this size hole, this bit is harder to use than a single point bit. Hole was clean with little chipping.
