Ratings & Reviews for Kobalt 20 -Piece Standard (SAE) and Metric Mechanics Tool Set with Hard Case

Ratchet Set

This tool set is a very nice set for a lot of small jobs. The sizes run on the smaller side and won't handle big nuts. What I like about it is that the carrying case is solid though a little bulky. I've had other sets with smaller cases that have failed and then my tools are all a mess and in a jumble. There is a solid spot for everything in the case. It seems like it is a bit overdone and it would be even nicer if some of this bulk could be minimized. The main ratchet has a good locking m...

Not a bad little set

This is a decent little socket set. I needed to replace my small socket wrench as the switch to change from tightening to loosening was no longer working. This came in handy right away as I received it just in time to work on a replacement part that came in for my jeep. It does what its designed to do. Loosen and tighten nuts and bolts. No complaints. Has a nice carrying case that hold the sockets firmly in place and keeps moisture out. Glad I got it.

Very nice set

This set seems to be of very high quality. One of its greatest features is that they are color coded to indicate either metric or standard....a great time saver. It's great to have everything in one case. The only negative I found is the size of the case seems excessive considering the contents inside. It will take up a bit of room in a tool box or on a work table. But other than that, very pleased.

Surprise in a little black and blue box

Product is packaged in a nice sturdy plastic box. Not too big so not difficult to carry but a small handle would have been really nice to have. Easy to open and close. Everything is very clearly marked inside on the plastic and is spaced out enough to make access easy. Plenty of room but some are a little snug and hard to pull out but of course if you dropped box then they wont fall all out. The ratchet is small but solid, it also has a push button lock for the extender which is nice. Easy to ...

Nice socket set for small projects.

For starters, the case this set comes in is excellent! parts fit good, easy access, and has a great latch. The ratchet itself is smooth with easy on/off socket control, and I prefer the flip lever direction selector,, which it has. All parts in the set seem to be great quality. It is a small set (up to 1/2" and 12mm), so if you have small work or projects, this is a great little set. Would recommend.

Great Tool Set!!

This metric tool set is the best and it couldn't have been put to a better use. We just decided to hang a barn door for the bathroom door and with the size bolts we needed to use this metric set along with the extender made the job task much easier to handle.....

Kobalt Socket Set

Very good quality Kobalt 1/4” socket set. Kobalt tools have become my favorite. This comes with SAE and Metric. 1/4” drive is small enough to get into tight places. Sockets fit very good on whatever size bolt you’re taking off or tightening. Good quality case holds everything secure.

Great Socket Set

I've had a chance to use this socket set and I've really enjoyed them so far. These will replace an older set. The things I've really liked are the big and very clear markings on each piece detailing the size of each socket, not something my old set had. I like the locking button to keep sockets attached to the wrench. The nice hard case is also a bonus. Good set of sockets that I'm sure will hold up well over time.

A handy little socket set

At 8" X 5 1/2" the plastic case is durable with a metal hinge pin and positive locking latch. Although compact, the case (3" deep) is perhaps twice what it needs to be - still, a nice size which fits nicely in my tool chest. The 6-point sockets are labeled on each one for ease of identification and organization. Additionally, the colored stripe (red = standard (SAE); blue = metric) is an added benefit. The 90-tooth ratchet which provides 4* of arc swing is great in tight places. As was mention...

Solid tool

Sturdy, compact case. Good for having around the house or in a car that doesn’t take up too much space. I like that the sockets are color coded red for standard and blue for metric.

Every household needs this

this is a great little set of sockets, both mettric and SAE. Great for around the house or in the shops tool chest. Has nice carrying case to tote your sockets around. This is a set that you need one for the house and one to carry in your vehicle. Youd know its get when you see the Kobalt name on it

Kobalt 1/4 Inch Drive Socket Set

The Case: Pros: The Plastic Case is very attractive and appealing to the eye. It appears to be very durable, hinge system utilizes metal in addition to the plastic, I would expect the hinge system to last much longer than other plastic cases that only utilize plastic as the hinge. Con: The case seems to be deeper that it needs to be and would take up less space if thinner. The Sockets: Pros: The color coding stripe is excellent to determine the difference between the MM and standard Socket...

Nice quality, no issues.

Nice quality. No issues. Good fitment between ratchet & sockets. Made in Taiwan. This was my first socket set working on cars. Was spoiled thinking this level of quality was par for the course. I'm a bit Made in USA biased now a days but some Taiwan products are on par. Many Kobalt products are and this set is no exception.

Wrench/socket set

I bought this set to keep in my car for any minor emergency repairs, and I like the fact that it comes in a nice solid case to keep the sockets from getting lost rolling around in the car.

Excellent set for small work projects!

I purchased this to use on small home HVAC and car work. Case is a big plus as it has space to put nuts / bolts in it. Makes it so much easier than pulling out my bigger socket set! 72 Ratchet is really nice as well...
