Screws on the head don’t stay tight

I have had two of these and the screws back out of the ratchet, which allows the ratchet gears to break. Welding the screws in is the only way I could get them to stay. I tried lock tight, but they still got loose

Factory settings not correct.

Torque was set to 45 ft lbs and wrench never clicked or made an audible noise and I kept tightening and the bolt would have sheared off had it not broken the swivel joint socket attatchment. The man at the return said I was lucky it broke the attachment and not any major bolts on my engine. Never will I buy another Kobalt hand tool. Craftsman or Rigid only from now on for any socket or wrench I will ever need all day.

Junk the screws came out

I have had this for a little over a year and the screws came out of the head and the tool fell apart.

great torque wrench

I have a couple of these Kobalt torque wrenches in my toolbox at home and also in my box at work and theyre great. The length is great when leverage is needed to apply 200 ft/lbs on fittings. I have other brands that do not have the length, thus provide the leverage that are much more inexpensive and their durability and reliability are reflected as such.

I love this tool, this is my first torque wrench. It works very well, the click sound and feel are good and seems true to the setting. It is easy to read and set. I love the spring loaded lock ring just above the handle, very easy to pull and then rotate the handle to adjust torque setting, then release. The setting is then securely locked. The wrench fits perfectly in the plastic case which is very easy to open and close. Wrench is well built and finished beautifully. Markings are nicely etc...

clicker not loud enough

would have 5 stars if the torque release was louder. if in a busy shop you would not here it. other than that i like this wrench.

After installing new bump stops on my Tundra. I had to torque the u bolts to 74 lbs. The settings on the wrench are easy to read, and set. Once the blts where tight it took only a turns with the torque wrench to get set. You can hear the click, and feel it in your hand when set. Great wrench!
