Terrible

Broke two bolts off in my valve cover, tested it on a bolt and did not work right out the box. Obviously this was a huge problem

1/2 inch drive torque wrench

Slight damage to the case where the plastic pin was used to hold the clear cover on. Was able to just pull of the clear cover with no force. Torque wrench appears to work perfectly though and matches what was on the calibration sheet. Would of been 5 stars if case wasn't damaged in the picture.

Be patient with the dial indicator

I’ve found it a little tricky to find a 1/4” torque wrench anymore but this little fella did the trick. Primarily used for small engine work and it does just great for what i need and fit and finish feels great too.

I like that it doesn’t take any battery’s I could use it in the dead of winter and it would torque to spec

Haven’t used yet but no doubt it will work great the only reason it’s 4 and not 5 is bc it takes forever to get it from 250 to 50 ftlbs feels heavy duty

the scale is hard to read and the collar doesn't line up with the intersection where the torque number line intersects the vertical line like other torque wrenches. it's very easy to make this not clique so attention is required to make sure the handle is properly positioned with no pressure on it before tightening. when it does clique its noticeable. My money would have been better applied to a quality torque wrench that does 5 to 75 ft lbs, or if I needed something that could measure under 5...

Breaks

Good for occasional use

Arrived broken, sockets would not stay on drive. Returned to the store. If not for that problem I would have given it a 5. Good tool for occasional home use.

Defective right out of the box

Drive head socket retention ball was stuck completely in the drive head , sockets had to be held on. Had to return wrench. If not for that defect I would have given it 5 stars. Can't beat it for the price for occasional home use.

Kobalt finally honored warranty

Originally post 6/2024 about not honoring the warranty. They sent me new screws but the wrong length; when contacted they sent me a torque wrench! Took some time to get to the correct person but then she stayed up on the problem and fixed it. The torque wrench works very well and I'm happy with it.

Great deal at $55

No plastic parts, all metal construction. This wrench was purchased to replace an old and defective craftsman wrench. I've always like Kobalt tools and gave this one a try. I was reading the reviews and found some of them hilarious and others informative. Unlike some, I had no trouble getting the box open and pulling out the wrench. Didn’t click

Just bought today… taking it back tomorrow. No click when tightening . Glad I stopped tightening to here the click on recommended 80 in lbs. if broke bolt doubt if this manufacturer would help fix on my engine after tightening too tight hoping for a click
