I broke one drill bit, and I had to buy this whole set. I wish you could buy just the drills

Broken

Used 2, Broke 2 drilling in a 2x4. Both snapped at the shank.

Be careful not to drill too deep.

Works great to start screws and countersink. An extra step but prevents splitting decking.

2 of 4 bits were bent right out of the package

2 of the 4 bits were bent right out of the package. I ended up using the #10 bit to drill pilots for #8 screw because that was the straight bit. I didn’t bother returning them because it wasn’t worth the hassle of driving over there just to exchange it. I expect that if I exchanged it I’d probably get a straight bit, but at 50% miss rate in the pack I got I wasn’t going to chance making the trip just to exchange it and risk ending up with another dud. Nice and short

These twist drill bits are just what I was looking for because they are short and stubby. The other ones that I have are to long for short screws and wont allow for the drill bit to get short enough for #6,8,or 10 short screws.

Pictured are the drill inserts for a Kobalt tool I purchased awhile back. It's a reversible tool with drill bit (as shown) on one end and a screwdriver bit on the other. Saves time when drilling pilot holes and putting a screw in. The set has four sizes of bits. I tried the cheap route of putting a smaller drill bit in to make smaller pilot holes. Perfect set

I am constructing my own kitchen cabinets and needed to counter sink a variety of sized screws. This set was perfect for my needs and they all held up well even in hard oak wood. The price point was better than buying individually.

Very fragile

They break under moderate load. I’m not a pro but I’m the son of a pro. I appreciate having the right tool for the job, even if it’s just around the house. I also take care of my tools. So, I bought these bits to help create a clean look on some deck repairs. However, I had multiple bits snap in composite decking. I also had the hex shank come loose from the bit.

kobalt 4pc drill bit set

Bought these to replace first set of Kobalt counter sink bits purchased years ago. Bits are sharp and make perfect cut for screw heads.

I had some longer bits and snapped the one I use the most. I had just about given up on replacing my old bit when I ound these at the bottom of the rack. They were the perfect length for the cabinets I was making.
