Best little countersinkers ever!

Occasionally I need to countersink a screw in wood to either keep the head flush or prevent the wood from splitting. These little twist drills do a great job of providing just enough countersink and pilot hole preparation to give the job a perfect flush finish without splitting the wood or roughing up the PVC.

Broke

Seemed to work great at first but 2 of the 4 broke after first day of use

Good product

It served its purpose, now I have four individual items floating around my tool box so it would prove useful to include a small rubber or plastic means to hold they all together, similar to any other drill bits.

Small and do the job

I read all previous reviews and figures this one is the best deal out there. Already used it to make quite a bit of counter sunk holes and pre-drills. Used #8 and #6 so far. Works as expected, not as sharp as regular drills bits and I like it - they move slow and give you chance to see what is happening and no, they are not slow-slow as in a bad. They slow in a good way. I did find the drill bit is kind of small approximately 1", fortunately, I was working with 11/2" screws, so was not a problem...

Concept is great, but not enough difference in bit sizes to warrant 4 bits. Does not fit well in Irwin bit holder.

worked perfectly

These bits did the job on my decking project, didn't fail, worked just as they were designed. Very happy.

ok for price

These were the only ones available at the store and were fairly cheap. The small one broke on the third hole. Had to switch to next size up to finish job. I felt like I had to be delicate with these so they wouldn't break again.

Good set

This is a good set of counter sinks. The twist drill portion is adjustable and Kobalt has a set of replacement bits you can buy. So the set can always stay sharp.

The bit broke with no pressure applied during use

I think there is a quality issue with these bits, I used very low pressure during drilling, the bit broke.

I love these

Have used these for years and find them the best counter sink bit to use when installing wood plugs, drill bit is adjustable.

I almost went too deep the first time I used these bits, sharp and clean. nice bit set, I believe I'll use them often, after retiring my old one piece set..

Countersinking Twist Drills

These countersinking twist drills work fine for their intended purpose. It would be nice if the pilot drills were a bit longer, to allow you to drill and countersink in one step, for the screw length in which you are using. But it's no big deal. You can simply drill to correct depth with a twist drill, and then finish with the countersinking drill. Seems to work fine.
