Handy little tool.

Overall I find it to be quite handy, it's saved me a lot of battery power and time having the two together. I purchased this before impacts and quick change outs really took off. I've had the bit going on 7 years and it's still going strong. It works well, but there is some caution: 1. Kobalt doesn't seem to have made a replacement drill bit. You can purchase a 7/64 bit package and grind the bits down to allow the nut to catch better, but it takes a bit of patience. The other caution actually c...

Works great

I would give it 5 stars all around, but the bit holder cannot accept a standard screwdriver bit as well. You need to take the whole thing out and rechuck the driver. It does work really great but for that.

Drill bit broke off half way through the project!

The quality is poor. The drill bit broke off in a 1x4 slat....... When it was in one piece it worked great. I will be returning this item.

Dril bit

The actual dril bit could have been a little longer or let me put my own bit in so I could have drilled a deeper pilot hole.

Handy little bit

I love this item. You can be up on a ladder with only the one tool. I have been putting up panels in my shop and it has saved me numerous steps.

My only complaint

My only complaint about this product is the locking sleeve is too easily undone when extracting the tip through a tight spot. DeWalt sells a similar item with a spring-loaded sleeve, which doesn't drop the bit as often; however, both of these are very hard to find! I've never seen the DeWalt on the shelf (my boss has one left from a purchase of 4 a year ago), and snatched up the Kobalt because I haven't seen it for a couple of years! Could use some better machining

Wore out a craftsman version of this tool. Something I use all the time. This one takes a little extra fiddling to fit the pieces together when changing bit/driver. Not great machining tolerances.

Time saver

If you have a project that involves lots of screws, this is definitely a 'must-have'. This makes whatever you're working look more professional. Most importantly, it's a time saver since you can drill the hole & then quickly flip it over to the screw head to finish the job.

Kobalt 7/16 Twist Drill Bit Is of POOR Quality

I used this to countersink for some wood screws. The drill bit itself snapped in half on my 3rd hole. Terrible quality. In addition, the drill bit is too short. It should allow for 3 inch screws; but is designed for maybe up to a 1.5" screw. I would not recommend this product at all.

Combination drill/countersink/driver bit

I think Kobalt must have responded to some of the earlier reviews of this product. I'm building four storage cabinets for my wife's stained glass hobby. I started assembling the first one last week - it is made of 3/4" sanded plywood with dadoes for 1/2" dividers, giving 8 large vertical slots. I drilled 5 holes for each divider (a total of 45 holes) and assembled the bottom side with glue and 1 1/4" #8 screws. Great Product when it is made correctly

This the 4th one I purchased this week and the previous 3 the set screws that hold the bit in place are stripped out , right out of the box!!! I thing they got a "Bad Batch" because I have used this type of tool for YEARS (more than 10) and it is a GREAT TOOL. I get usually get a year out of this tool and I use it All Day, 5 days a week.

Genius tool

The only thing I would like better is a longer bit, still need to switch drills for deep holes.

I have used this tool on several deck jobs as well as just odd jobs around the house. It greatly speeds up the process. I see a lot of the reviews discuss bit breakage. I have broken 1 bit in about 6 decks and it was because i was tired or lazy and did not drill straight down. But I don't understand the responsed people received that they had to buy a new set! Two handy tools for wood working in one

This is the most used drill accessory I have ever had, You drill counter sink then pull the end swap the bit and drive your screw in very professional looking. I would recommend this to any one who does any projects around the house.
