Ratings & Reviews for Kobalt 65 -Piece Metric and standard (SAE) Mechanics Tool Set with Hard Case
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise the tool set for solid build quality, durability, and exceptional value, with most finding the ratchets, sockets, and accessories reliable and comfortable to use. The comprehensive assortment of SAE and metric sizes suits home repairs and vehicle maintenance well. However, many report significant frustrations with the storage case, noting that drawers jam, sockets dislodge, and plastic construction feels cheap. Despite case issues, most customers consider the tools themselves well-made and worth the price, making it a popular starter set and gift option.

Would RecommendA lot of useful tools packed into this set. Great addition to the shop. Only thing I wish was different is that the open ended wrenches are short decreasing their potential.

Ratchet could be better.
Would RecommendThe ratchet broke the very first use, thankfully it is a warrantied item. The sockets are good and clearly marked.

Missing socket
Would Not RecommendThe case is rattally and the drawers do not slide out very easily. The handles of the ratchets are very slim as if they were designed for a child or someone with small hands. The set does not come with an 18 mm socket. One that is widely used at mechanic shops.
2nd delivery charge for a purchase on one order
Would RecommendThis was delivered in a HUGE truck. Not sure why I had 2 delivery charges for one order.
Poor quality and the warranty is worthless
Would Not RecommendThe 3/8" ratchet is poorly made, the direction lever failed and fell out. Despite the advertised "hassle free warranty" for Kobalt tools, Lowe's will not provide a replacement ratchet unless I return the ENTIRE tool set in the original case! All 297 pieces must be returned. Every Allen wrench, every screwdriver bit, every socket must be present or NO RETURN FOR YOU!

Get a better case.
The top drawer wouldn’t open. Shouldn’t have been a problem, but the top Tray can’t be removed. Took at least 30 minutes with a needle nose vice grip and screwdrivers to finally get all of the misplaced sockets out of the way.
