What Customers Are Saying

Customers overwhelmingly praise this shovel for exceptional root-cutting performance, with most noting it slices through roots up to three inches in diameter with minimal effort. The heavy, sturdy construction and unique blade shape enable users to leverage it as both a cutting tool and pry bar, dramatically reducing physical strain. Many report completing hours-long landscaping tasks in minutes, with users across all physical abilities—including older adults and those with back issues—finding the work surprisingly manageable. A few mention the edge could be sharper initially, and rare instances of bending occur, but these are vastly outweighed by enthusiastic endorsements calling it an essential garden tool.

A Great Tool

I bought mine after borrowing one from someone else. I was attempting to dig around trees and shrubs. It was a nightmare, until I tried this tool. It saved time as well as my back.

Root cutting shovel.

Bought it for my husband who was digging up some bushes in the yard and he likes the way it cuts through the root system so he doesn't have to cut through all the smaller root system.

This thing slays!

It happens when there isn’t enough soil to protect the roots in cold winter weather. The roots die off and you’re left with dead exposed roots and bare areas. The way to fix it is to “rake them up” (that’s a joke) and cover the bare area with a mix of soil (Black Cow) and paver base (sand). Raking up roots of St Augustine grass is a hilarious concept. Root destroyer!

Reliable root slayer and uprooter. I have been able to uprooter very rooted poison oak establishments. Roots grow 2-3 inches thick and I've been uprooting or cutting all the invasive poison oak vine roots.
