What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this crimper for its ease of use, consistent performance, and innovative pass-through design that eliminates trimming excess wire. The ratcheting mechanism delivers clean, reliable crimps with minimal effort, while the one-squeeze crimp-and-cut function and built-in stripper streamline the terminating process. Most users report professional results and appreciate its precision and durability. However, some report recurring issues with pins 1 and 8 failing to cut fully, leading to loose connections. A few note blade wear after heavy use. Despite these concerns, most consider it a worthwhile investment for network installation and DIY projects.

Works for some cables but has issues
Would Not RecommendI have a lot of Klein tools as I install and repair electronic equipment and services. Some of my Klein tools are many years old and I like the quality and construction which are typically built to last for professionals like me. This tool appears to be good quality and construction however I just don't like the design and it does not perform well. With my Klein Cat 5 standard crimp tool I have a success rate of better than 95%. The best I achieved with this tool on Cat 6 was 60% and with screen...

For pass thru connectors
Would RecommendExactly as advertized. Does a fantastic job of scribing outside jacket for removal of such Cuts individual cable strands off evenly with end of rj45 jack with one crimp of handle. One important thing to remember, THIS IS FOR "PASS THRU CONNECTORS" hence, is cuts coductors off evenly. If you use a (non pass thru connector) it will crimp but, you have to measure cut for outside jacket and conductor length before hand.

Should of read the reviews first
Would Not RecommendPurchased appeared and felt like a quality well made crimper. I don't use daily. Just DIY and enjoy doing my own work. Mine still looks brand new although purchased a couple years ago. I started having issues before I finished the first project that I purchased it for. Same issues others. Wire 1 & 8 wouldn't trim off. The more and began to leave stubby wires at end of connector. Cutting blade looked to have nicks. Removed and carefully re-sharpened. Help some not a clean cut on all ei...

Great tool
Would RecommendBought this at electrical supplier and very happy with it. On the back there was a QR code to download wiring diagram to your phone. Sadly link was broken and can’t find it with the search on the website. Oh well

Best crimpers out there
Would RecommendI bought this tool half a year ago and working in data labs I can easily make 200 rj-45 connections a week and I’ve never had any issues with the Kleins crimpers unlike other brands I have used in the past. Even now the lab has started to switch over to using purely Klein crimpers because they work better.

5th Time is a Charm? NOPE...
Would Not RecommendI have purchased 5 pairs of these for each of my offices to do simple network updates. After many CRC errors and Failures on Pin 1&2 - I tested all 5 pairs with a half dozen brands of pass-through connectors with my Klein Scout Pro 3 - None worked. The Build quality and features of this tool are awesome - but Sorry Klein, I will have to buy a different pass-through crimper.

Great concept but not perfect
Would Not RecommendI am a fan of Klein tools, can not tell you how many I have purchased over the past 2-3 years. I believe that this tool was the answer to my cable needs, but I find myself crimping with my old crimper and now the tool will not finish the cut in the pass-through wires. I do not think that I have gone through 30 connectors, so use is not the issue. Needs more robust cutting mechanism and sharper blade, Sorry

Trim blade chipped after 10 cables
Would Not Recommend"Lasts over 2,000 Cuts" yeah right, the blade on the pass through trimmer chipped after around 20 terminations. In addition, the strip hole tends to nick the actual wire inside Cat6 wire.

should be removed from market
Would Not RecommendTool has consistently yielded poor connections and many hours of extra work and frustration. Have used 4 of the same model, all with issues.

Bad crimps
Would Not RecommendI bought this due to it's compact size and the Klein reputation. Unfortunately, the crimps are unreliable on pin 1 (Orange/White). I thought I had garbage old CAT-5 cable, as the cables tested good with a simple tester. Bought a spool of high grade cable - same issue. I finally hooked up a LinkRunner - consistent bad readings on pin 1 at BOTH ENDS. Used another crimper with no further issues. Lot's of wasted time and money.

I wanted to like it. Crimping issues
Would Not RecommendI purchased this thinking Klein was the brand name of network tools. I've had two technicians use this crimper. We have tried pass thru and standard RJ45 ends. It seems like 95% of the time Pin 1 and 2 fail to crimp. We retired it with an older generic crimper and the cable tests just fine.
