Failed in 1 year

I bought these for school projects as I go through weber states engineering program and only used them on a handful of projects. They still look brand new but when I tried to use them recently, the digital screen measurements jump around sporadically. They are a cool looking paperweight now.

I use these to mark cabinet handles with 2 screws. It's perfect every time

Nice micrometer

The measuring device is very good and accurate. The only problem that i found,this is annoying, the case is so cheaply made it won't stay closed. I had to add a rubber band to keep it closed.

I recommend this product.

Very good quality and very useful product

No padding in case!

The packaging states that the case is cushioned. There is zero padding in the case. Just the hard plastic material. I think padded storage is pretty important for this type of instrument. Makes me worry even though the build quality seems okay for the price. Mainly, I just don't like being mislead when I buy something maybe, haha ;)

Great set of calipers for the money

These work really well for the price. I checked them against know standards (.009 - .046) and they were accurate. The movement is smooth as well.

Almost unusable

Unlike other reviewers, I didn't have too much difficulty with the battery compartment. However, the scroll wheel for fine adjustment of the ruler was almost completely useless, you have to really push hard against the ruler otherwise it does nothing. I could live with those if it measured accurately, however, it didn't. I measured guitar strings I knew to be .010", and if I was gentle with the caliper, using only the janky scroll wheel, I got a result of .0135". If I pushed the ruler closed by ...

Worked great

Had one before (another brand) and it was a piece of junk. Had to get another one and this one fit the bill perfectly. Had to know the distance from flooring to concrete for threshold and it worked perfectly.

Top Caliber Caliper

Haven't used this caliper much yet. But so far it seems to do the job well. And I've shopped around a lot for one in this price range and Johnson came out on top. If you are a machinist or similar then you should looking to companies like Starrett. I've had their micrometer since 1976 and it is precision and accuracy. The Johnson caliper is not Starrett caliber, but for my projects it gets the job done. I'd probably give a 5 star, but just need more time using it.

It is not accurate, battery cap falls off.

I look great until you start using it. major problem: it is not accurate, what it measure does not match with real size of nut, bolts, tools, etc. minor: the cap for the battery falls off easy, with goes the battery. Try to find a little battery on a job site, not easy, i retrieve it so far, one day the cap will be gone under the dust. desirable: it does not have pressure lock, like a good measuring tape. Sorry Johnson, great brand, so, so tool.
