Would RecommendSo far my experience with these bits has been amazing! They go through 2x4 studs like nothing! I use these bits with the Dewalt brushless drill (model. DCD791) and have had absolutely no problems so far. I expected them to work great, I just didn't expect them to work THIS great!
How to tame these aggressive bits
Would RecommendI just bought a set of these bits to replace some worn spade bits. I have Forstner bits for nice holes but wanted something for rougher work. The first use was drilling through a pine 2x4 in a drill press using the 1-1/4 bit. This did not work due to the aggressive design of this large bit. The bit pulled the board up and lodged itself into the wood. After a little thinking I drilled a 1/4 inch pilot hole. This solved the problem. tri-flute bit was really good for pulling weeds.

Would RecommendBought these for use on replacing bridge decking. Bored 3 holes through 3 inch thick green white oak and the bit got stuck and had to be driven out with a hammer. Does not clean the green wood chips out well but drills like no other bits. Still sharp after 160 plus holes in the 3 inch thick oak but no more blue paint left. Typically this would wear out a number of spate bits and take far more time.
A Definate upgrade over Paddle bits
Would RecommendThese wood bits are like a paddle bit with three cutting edges instead of two with an added screw drive auger at the tip. Much cleaner & faster cut on the hole size with easier feed when the auger gets a grip in wood. Not for metal.
