Would RecommendThese bits were purchased to drill through the floor to pass internet cords through. They did the job well.

Pleasantly surprised
Would RecommendYears ago Irwin’s products were decent basic products, but sometime along the way they got it together. I love the bits, I’ll buy every size that I can find.

Great bits for boring in thick lumber
Would Recommend5/8” 3/4” and 1” bits were the perfect three-piece kit for my needs. The bits are not super long (they sell longer versions separately that would work), but I could bore a hole through a 4” thick poplar leg on my work bench with no problem using the 1” bit. The lead screw threads pull the bit through the work piece so you only need to keep the drill straight and steady (no pressing needed like a standard bit).

Really hawgs into wood
Would RecommendI used the 1 inch to drill through 3 inches of fir and pine. It stopped my 20v DeWalt drill, then it stopped my Bosch corded drill. Finally used my huge Milwaukee 1/2" drill and that worked. There was some tear out on the far side. But overall the bit worked well. Just make sure you have adequate power behind it.

An ok tool
Would RecommendI have used these to make lamps; I drill through a log and these have been ok. I have snapped off a little bit of the end of one of these but it is still usable. I may need to find something a little tougher in the future.

Speedbore bits
Would RecommendThese bits are great, super aggressive and fast. You better have a high torque drill and hold on very tight.

Irwin 3-Piece Tri-Flute Bit Set
Would RecommendI have used these in place of the paddle bits I have always used and have found them to be helpful especially when I could not exert much force to drill through wood. Liked using them and would tell friends and family that I would use them before the paddlw drills

Good drill bits
Would RecommendSometimes it pays to read the marketing stuff on the package. These claim to be "Max Speed" and "Fastest Speedbor Ever." I pretty much ignored that, and bought the set because I needed to drill holes about 1-1/2 deep for dowel pins. These bits are really fast. A couple of times the hole went 2 or 3 inches before I could stop. Also, they don't come out easily from partial holes. I had to reverse the drill to back out. All this means I didn't take the packaging seriously. If you want to get good ...
