Just awful

I bought this 10 pack for a good chunk of change to remove some broken screws. Even the smallest drill bit couldn't remotely come closet to drilling a hole into the broken screw. Wasn't even able to use the extraction tool. Hopefully Lowe's will take it back!

Bites Aggressively

I over-torqued a valve cover bolt on my Wrangler and of course it snapped off close to the cylinder head. No chance to grab and remove with Vice Grips. I had a set of the Speed Out extractors but they have never been very satisfactory and weren't in this situation. I purchased the Irwin extractors at Lowes because they seemed to have a more aggressive design. The key is centering the hole in the bolt. The Irwin worked flawlessly with very little effort.

Didn’t do the job

Didn’t work. The T-handle barely holds the bits and when I did get it to hold it wouldn’t grab onto the old screws well enough to remove them.

Great option to try in a bad situation.

I picked the 4 pack because of the size range. When i gor home to use the product I had to go up a size, and thankfully i had it! I was sucessful in removing the stuck screw, and was suprised that the toolworked so well! I heard horrer stories.

Works as advertised

I had a bolt break on my elliptical. Worked like a charm. It is still stuck on the bolt so now I have to figure out how to remove the bolt from the tool

I would say no stars if I could.

The bolt is still stuck and now I’m down three extractors. These things are soft, brittle, and completely useless. I broke three of them trying to back out a single seized bolt, even after carefully pre-drilling and following all directions. All I got out of this was wasted time and a mess. Spend a little more and get a set that actually works — this isn’t it.

Did not perform as advertised

I had 3 stripped screws I needed removed from a project. I prepped the area with PB Blaster on the threads, applied some heat, then used the drill bits to create a hole for the extractor bits. I started with a smaller extractor bit but it wasn't biting so I moved on to the next size up and it still wasn't grabbing onto the screw. I eventually used a larger drill bit which was way more effective than the extractor bits. In fact, the edges of the extractor bits are noticeable smoother and flatter ...

Worked in the end

Had an M8 x 40mm bolt snap after over torquing it, my fault. Tried vise grips and other tricks to get it out, nothing worked. While it took a few attempts with this set, in the end it pulled the bolt shaft out without damaging the threads. The threads on the extractor also held up very well to the force required to remove the bolt. Happy to add this to the collection of tools I hope to not use.

Returning Product

I have some serious 3” plus wood screws that just won’t come out. The drill bit would barely round out the screws I was working with. The extractor did not grab and remove either. I have a very strong corded porter cable hammer-regular drill. When my Milwaukee M18 won’t do it I go to this bad boy. No Luck with the bits and pricey, so they should make better quality bits for this kit.
