HORRIBLE AIR OUTPUT

This fan has 3 speeds: SLOW, SLOWER, and SLOWEST. We have other Hunter ceiling fans in our home, and the high setting on this new one is like a low setting on our older Hunter fans. They just don't make them like they used too, apparently. Also, there is a loud hum when the fan is on the lame high setting. Very disappointed and will not be buying any more Hunter fans. :(

Easy install and quiet

I bought this as a deal of the day for $70 and it took about an hour to install. I didn't find the picture instructions all that easy to follow but I figured it out. Two of the fan blade grommets came out but I reinserted them and the blade then attached easily. Quiet and balanced from the first time I turned it on and the lights are bright enough. Overall, I like the look and it is working fine.

Not a 5 minute installation but a good fan

I just finished installing this fan with an after market remote control. It was a fairly straight-forward installation. Instructions were easy to follow and the fan wiring colors matched the remote controls wire colors so it was just matching wire with wire. The remote fits 'inside' the bracket that holds the fan to the ceiling box. after reading some of the reviews, I bought and installed a Hunter 5 minute down rod fan. The install went quickly but I ran into a couple of minor issues. The fans hanger bracket's mounting holes were to wide to use my existing metal box. The instructions stated the bracket was designed to be installed into a stud. Lightning issues

A good looking fan and easy to install. Took considerable longer than 5 minutes. Puts out good air movement and virtually silent. Only issue, I pulled the chain to turn the lights on and a bulb blew and the other 2 bulbs wouldn't burn. The fan still worked fine. I replaced all 3 bulbs but still nothing. Had to replace the entire fixture.

Quiet, effective, but...

...the blades are poor quality. Easily scratched/gouged. Had I known, I would have paid a bit extra for a better quality Hunter.

hunter 5 minute Walden fan

We had a difficult time getting the mounting hanger to fit into the original (26 yr old house) electrical base. Getting the tiny screws to line up and not strip was a real pain on a 15 ft vaulted ceiling You have to get one side, to start to bite the thread, then go to the other side, and do the same thing. I purchased 3 Hunter Waldon fans and 1 Hunter Loudon fan to update an older condo. They are beautiful! I installed 3 (2 Waldon/1 Loudon) myself, and paid to have 1 Waldon installed in the 2 story vaulted great room. I combined a remote control within the vaulted fan, and it is wonderful. Fans move the air extremely well, and I keep them running pretty much all year. Great purchase - a noticeable instant update in any home.

Great fan!

Purchased to replace a 30 year old that was still working, but out dated. Went up with no issues and used a 36 rod purchased same day. The rod was a Harbor Breeze, but worked just fine. As some said the bulbs that come with it are a little dimmer than I'm used to and will replace later on. Like that the blades go on so nice! No screwing or fumbling for screws.

Light Kit Gave Up The Ghost

2 Stars just because the light kit went out and nothing to repair or replace it. We have owned this ceiling fan for just over a year, and as many have said, installation is definitely not a 5 minute job. Once installed the fan worked perfect, nice lighting, quite without any humming and moved air easily. But now after the year of enjoying it, the light kit failed. Fan still operates as usual, but no lights. As far as i can tell there is no way to order a replacement light kit for this particula...

Do not buy!

We bought this fan, and replaced it instantly. The lights did not work properly, so we got the same one thinking it was just a bad one. Well now the fan lights stopped working all together. I do not recommend this fan. Spend a few dollars more and buy a Harbor Breeze. It looks nice but has issues.

Poor design for fan attaching fan blades

The fan blades are attached with rubber grommets instead of bolts. Several of the grommets popped out when installing and didn't go back in correctly after 5-10 minutes of working with it. The balance isn't very good on high. The instructions connect the fan to the ceiling and then install the blades. So I had to stand on top of an 8 foot ladder and pull down on the assembly to install the blades. Stupidest design I have ever seen. It may save them a few cents but it reduces the quality of...

Hums and clicks after 4 months

This fan has hummed and clicked/ticks almost since it was installed. Hunter used to be a reputable fan company, but the contractor grade (which really means cheap) fans that came in my house are better than this one. Currently working to get warranty support on this fan...

Good quality, still working after 3 years

I have these in two of my rooms and they are still working as they should almost three years later. One fan had a balancing issue on high speed which was resolved with a $30 new hanging kit. I do not know if the hanging kit was bad from the beginning or my builder messed up the installation as he did on another one of my fans.

GREAT BEAUTIFUL FANS

Bought 5 of these fans and they were easy to install and fast and running quietly. I got the Brushed Nickel fan, they look GREAT and GREAT Buy.

5 minutes ..NOT...very dim bulbs

had an electrician install this fan in my living room ..very disappointed in the light kit that came with as the bulbs are so dim.. what is going on here?? the bulbs came with the fan..fan works & looks very nice.. only complaint is the light kit bulbs..he did put on the remote kit so not sure what the problem is..

Not quite 5 minutes but much faster than normal

I really questioned the 5 minute part, but all of the fan blades snap on and save most of the install time,

light kit assembly

After 18 months, my pull chain light switch does not work. My only option is to buy a whole new light kit. I purchased a Hunter Fan because of its reputation for high quality. It was a waste of money and I am extremely disappointed. I also did not find that the Dust Armor feature repelled any more dust from the fan blades than my previous ceiling fan without this feature.

Five minute fan confirmed!

Five minutes to open and unpack the contents. Five minutes to read the instructions. Five minutes to hang the bracket, hang the fan, wire the fan power, and close up the canopy. Five minutes to attach the light assembly, screw in the bulbs, and screw the bulb cover on. And about 15 minutes to balance the fan blades. 5 minute fan my sweet patootie!

I like the fan OK, but definitely not a 5 minute fan. This was not the first fan I have installed. I have updated and installed many over the last 30 years. Took about an hour, as I needed to have someone come help hold the fan while I connected the wiring. The little prongs that are on the ceiling plate just didn't inspire confidence to hold it while I did the wiring. The screws that attach the fan to the ceiling plate were very difficult to screw in.
