What Customers Are Saying
The ceiling fan electrical box is generally easy to install and use, with a solid and sturdy construction that can securely support the weight of a ceiling fan. Many customers found the setup straightforward, with the box sliding into the existing hole and extending as needed. However, some users encountered challenges such as short screws, difficulty aligning the box, or issues with the adjustable rod design. The product may not work as well for certain ceiling types like those with trusses instead of joists.

It was suggested I get one of these for a ceiling fan installation, but the installer did not need it.

About as easy as it could be
Would RecommendI would give this 5 stars, but the first one I bought was missing a piece so I had to go back and exchange it. Other than that putting this thing up was easier than I thought it be all things considered.
Works well, but broken parts concerning.
I ordered 3 and two were delivered with the wings broken off. Doesn't make me feel entirely safe hanging a fan over my bed with it. It installed rather easily though and seemed quite sturdy though I do worry about fatigue of the pressure over time. We'll see! I also wish there were screw holes I could use to fasten this. The image looks like maybe it does now. But again, that's the part that broke off. So hopefully they also reinforced that?
Raco's usually good. Look elsewhere for this
Would Not RecommendDisliked! The round shaft is difficult to grasp, to rotate it to be tight, pressed against the trusses. Other brands have a hex shape that works more easily. Also, alignment of the box and box bracket was difficult to make perfect, which is necessary.

These are great!
Would RecommendI was replacing a ceiling fan that someone else put up, only to find out that they never installed a box and screwed it into a 2x4 that they placed between the ceiling joist. I was able to remove the 2x4 and used this box to correct it.

Would Not RecommendBoxes to shallow doesn’t come flush with the ceiling yeah, have to buy an extension box to use it
The box depth of the 936 fan brace, is intended for use with half-inch drywall. Extension rings are not rated for fan support.

Total waste.
Would Not RecommendA real pain to install. I had to climb into the attic to get it to sit right. Might as well saved money and bought the simple round box that nails to the truss.

Had to cut to fit 12 inch span
Would RecommendThis is a fabulous product that was recommended by an electrician friend of mine after I told him about one of my ceiling fans falling. He said improperly installed fans with junction boxes not rated for the weight are far more common than people realize. So I used this box in that one bedroom on the 2nd floor of my home and checked my 3 other bedroom’s fans. While some were better mounted than others (heavy nails), none were truly rated for ceiling fans. Of my total 4 bedrooms, this produc...
