Good, but not perfect

I had to install a new ceiling fan and needed a new deep box for it. This one did the trick, but getting the holes in the top of the box to line up with the threads in the bracket was not happening. Fortunately, I was able to use a 1/4' bit & my drill to slightly enlarge the hole in the box. The other issue is with the small flange that protrudes from the bracket. I had to file that down in order to get the box in the correct orientation to secure the box to the bracket.

Sturdy design and easy to install. Supports 75Lb or 150Lb fixtures.

Not what was pictured

Drove all the way to Lowe's only to find out the product wasn't as seen here. The bracket was welded to the unit. The item sku was the same, so either it's old stock or someone screwed up with ordering the correct stock.

Broken screw

I probably applied too much torque, but the third screw broke when I was installed the bracket. Now I have a two screw holes and a 3/4 screw in my joist and I need to figure out what to do. Probably get a different product with a different screw layout.

Tricky assembly and not square

I noticed that some other reviewers stated the box holes did not align with the bracket holes. I experienced the same thing with the bracket in the old work position - a notched piece of metal kept the holes from lining up when the box is tight against the bracket. The trick was to start the screws while the box was lose against the bracket, then tighten the screws to pull the box in. It was confusing how this was going to work until I figured that out. Convert a light fixture box to a fan box.

This is a nice way to save having to do any drywall patching. If you, like me, have a ceiling light fixture that you would like to convert to a ceiling fan, you will need to install a stronger box. This is one of a few that work really well. You can use it for new or old construction. The depth adjustment is ideal for accommodating different thicknesses of sheetrock. easy to install solid junction box

I initially bought a box that had adjustable arms that spanned between studs only to learn my studs were too close together for that type of mount to work. I had to move the hole in the ceiling over a little but feel a lot more confident that this box will not budge.

Easy to use

Worked great and easy to install. I didn't need to cut a large hole in my ceiling and got a sturdy mount for a ceiling a fan.

My installation was easy. Electrical was single circuit. Easy to replace existing box and install a ceiling fan.

Install this box on a 2x4 which I used for the fan brace in the attic. Made sure all four screws went into a secure spot on the 2x4 and it held okay.

Did what I needed

Worked perfectly on a sloped ceiling, old work - as others have mentioned: 1 - Use a hex driver, don't try to use a phillips head screw driver 2 - the box in theory could be pushed against the bracket in 4 ways - it will only go on 1 way - for those complaining about this the instructions do call out aligning the box with the bracket so the proper weight shows in the max weight window (70 pounds for old work) - you can only do this 1 way, screw holes line up perfectly this way.

1.5 Not 2 inch depth

Standard is 1.5. The description says 2 inches deep. It’s not. Correct model number just an incorrecr deacription in the specifications section.
