What Customers Are Saying

The drywall shims are generally considered a useful and effective product for leveling and plumbing walls and ceilings during home renovation and drywall installation projects. Many customers found the shims to be flexible, easy to cut to size, and helpful in straightening out uneven surfaces. Several reviewers noted the shims worked well for preparing cement boards and drywall prior to tiling or finishing. However, some customers were disappointed the shims were made of cardboard rather than the expected pine material, and a few felt the cardboard shims were of lower quality. There were also some complaints about the shims swelling or deteriorating when exposed to moisture.

Cardboard Drywall Shims. 100 - Pack

The name of this product is not correct. They are cardboard shims not Pine Shims. It would be great if Lowes could have these in stock. Contractors in Dallas have no clue what these are used for. When you butt ends of 12 ft sheet rock together, there is not the nice indent that you have when you butt the 4 foot side to another 4 foot side. To create this indent, you add a shim to the 2x4 stud that is to the left of the joint (usually 16 inches to the left) and a shim to the 2x4 stud that is ...

The difference between a pro and a handyman.

Would Recommend

Cheaper than anywhere, shipped to my home in a week with July 4th free shipping promo. Worked great. They're just strips of paper, but effectively prevent screw pops (along with using glue and screws no longer than 2.5x drywall thickness) and wavy walls. I just roughly leveled out the wall using cedar shims and stud cuts so it's within 1/4" for every 32" distance. Checked wall using the finished edge of a piece of drywall as a straight edge since I didn't have a 6' one. Then used these shims ...

Description inaccurate

Would Recommend

The description listed this product as "not wood" for material. It turned out to be recycled paper, which is wood. Because of the 'not wood', I assumed it was composite. It will work for its intended use as a dry-wall shim, but I purchased it for a different outdoor use. It was cheap enough to not matter and fill space on a shelf.
