What Customers Are Saying
The product appears to have quality and durability issues, with the auger bit and extensions frequently breaking or malfunctioning, even during initial use. Many customers reported the bit getting stuck in walls, requiring them to damage the drywall to retrieve it. The quick-connect features also did not function as expected, leading to further frustration. While a few reviewers found it suitable for soft wood or simple tasks, the overall consensus is that the product has a high failure rate and is not recommended.

Would RecommendThis is probably not the intended use for this product, but worked like a charm for running landscaping wires under a concrete patio. Sure beats digging by hand! Turned a multi hour task into about 20 minutes
versatile tool for wood boring
Would RecommendThe cutting head can be placed directly in impact driver or you can use either of two extensions or both extensions for a variety of bit lengths. The interconnects on the bit and extensions are very easy to use and all have the impact driver head. An impact driver is definitely the tool to use with this woodboring bit. A drill will bog down and stop pretty easily.

Not as durable as they used to be
Would Not RecommendI had bought one of these kits about 7yrs ago and it held up fantastic, till I lost my auger bit inside the wall, and didn't feel like making a bigger hole to retrieve it. So I decided to purchase a new kit on 11-18-17. Well what a mistake that was. The shaft of the auger bit sheared off on the second hole. I ended up returning the whole kit and just bought the Greenlee 3/4" Woodboring Auger bit, and a separate 54" flex shaft extension (I lost the original a while ago). That bit hasn't sheared y...
Broken bit = a new hole to patch in the wall.
Would Not RecommendWell, like a couple other reviews, this drill bit hung up badly in the bottom plate. It was so bad, in fact, that the connector at the first rod (inside the wall) sheared off. The shorter extension was still chucked in my drill. In order to get the bit back out, I just cut a large 2'x3' hole in the wall to get the bit out and to facilitate the rewiring that I'm working on. Not happy about this at all, and I'm on the way back to Lowe's now to buy drywall and a fresh bucket of mud. Don't...
Great idea...bad implementation.
Would RecommendI've used other brand of this flex bit in the past and thought the adjustable length would be easier to use. The 3/4" bit that comes with it is trash. The shaft of these are smaller in diameter than the original 54" 'other (blue) name brand' Each shaft has a sticker that says not to use a bit larger than 3/4". I tried to drill a single hole through a double 2-4 top plate using just the 36" shaft and the bit provided got jammed in the top plate and I couldn't get the part to free itself...ulti...

Simplify the job.
Would RecommendThis made the job so much easier in so many ways. One thing to keep in mind, the bit that comes with this requires a drill with some torque behind it. If you don't have a drill that can handle the bit it comes with, pick up a paddle bit too. Worked great for me.

Great tool when used properly!
Would RecommendAfter reading alot of negative reviews on this item I kept my fingers crossed! I was very pleased with he results. Drilling through a top plate that was unaccessable in the attic for drilling purposes was the task. I took my time with locating the middle of the top plate for the couple of holes I had to drill and had my drill on the slowest setting! Worked like a charm. Saved me time and aggravation! Also used it horizontally to get wire through another stud spacing.
Broke on 2nd hole
Would Not RecommendDrilling 3/4" hole through 2x4 header between floors to pull wire into my garage and it broke off inside the wall on my 2nd hole. Returned for the southwire version which is a stiffer single piece shaft.
Not good
Would Not RecommendThe product, when using, it flop around inside the dry wall as well as balled up. Drill bit didn't cut into the wood. I'm totally disappointed. I'm going to return the product

Great Idea, shoddy material, low quality
Would Not RecommendLast year I moved into my home and I paid someone way too much money to mount my flat screen TV in my living room. Typical story - I have the know-how but I didn't have the time. My wife and I decided to rearrange the room and we wanted the TV moved to a different wall. I remembered that the previous installer had a bit set like this, so I trotted off to Lowes to make the purchase. I could not be more disappointed. The bit is dull after trying to drill 3 holes. (and only the first attempt made ...
Made by a pro for pro's
Would RecommendI routinely have to fish wire down walls that have no conduit/ junction box installed in them. This can be a challenge in ideal conditions i.e. T-bar ceiling and no insulation or fireblock/ support bracing. This kit makes the difference between having to make time consuming cuts in the drywall to fish your line down or giving up entirely and running surface mount raceway. In my expeariences most customers consider the raceway an eyesore. One of the more challenging walls I had to drill down util...

Great Idea! Doesn't work!
Would Not Recommendthis bit is most likely to be used in drilling holes in wall plates and caps that total more than 1.5" thick with sub-floor and other construction features associated with the location. Long story - short [ IT CANNOT DO THAT!!!! ] The design of the bit forces it to jamb in a hole deeper than 1.5" as it cannot feed cuttings back past the rear of the bit. Even if the bit could pass cuttings backwards, the Quick- Disconnect would cause the same problem in a slightly deeper penetration. In trying to...

Great idea, but lacking in durability
Would RecommendThis is a great product idea for drilling and running wires inside of walls without having to rip open the wall. Having the shaft in two pieces is great, as it allows for easier storage and transportation. The wiring pulling mesh works well, but the upper end of the drill bit itself should have a longer taper to allow easier pulling of the assembly back through the hole which has just been drilled. On my first use of this product, the drill bit jammed inside a timber and could not budge with the...
