What Customers Are Saying
The product appears to have quality and durability issues, with the auger bit and extensions frequently breaking or malfunctioning, even during initial use. Many customers reported the bit getting stuck in walls, requiring them to damage the drywall to retrieve it. The quick-connect features also did not function as expected, leading to further frustration. While a few reviewers found it suitable for soft wood or simple tasks, the overall consensus is that the product has a high failure rate and is not recommended.

Would Not RecommendAt first glance this seems like a great idea. Greenlee makes some great products so I figured its worth trying. I was dead wrong, this thing is a massive piece of crap and a 60 dollar piece of crap at that. Save yourself the money and the frustration. Totally not worth it.
Don’t buy, weak design
Would Not RecommendDon’t buy, drill got stuck in the studs and the flexible piece broke off, I wasn’t able to retrieve it so consequently I am not able to return it. Bad design.

Useless. Used a series of locking 12" extensions
Would Not RecommendI was moving an outlet box for a three way switch to convert a part of the hall to a closet, and to move the wire out of the way of duct work installation in the attic. because the new routing was close to a room door I found that a lot of blocking had been installed between the existing studs (doubled) and the door frame (about 3'). I originally tried a Milwaukee cable bit but because of the bend for the roof line, and the distance to the bulk of the drilling, door header down, the bit wandered...
Beware - not worth the money, time, or frustration
Would Not RecommendDoes not work. Bit doesnt flex like it needs to, and i lost the bit in the wall. Unsuccessful wall fish and a waste of time and money.
Worthless. Hours of wasted time and frustration
Would Not RecommendI tried to use this bit with 4 different drills (battery and electric) and never made it through the first joist. After a lot of wasted time, I decided that cutting and patching the sheetrock was going to be less frustrating. I would have loved to return it for a refund, but you have to destroy the packaging to access the product.

unreliable
Would Not RecommendThe very first time I used the shorter extension it snapped off. The 3rd time I used the long extension the bit locking mechanism quit working. I returned the item.
doesn't work
Would Not RecommendI ended up buying 2 of these and both have same problem. The drill bit won't stay in either extension, the first one it would stay in long extension but not the short one. It looks like the hex end is too long to lock in Greenlee used to be quality tools.
What happened with Greenlee???????
Would Not RecommendI used to LOVE Greenlee products. They used to be made in USA and they used to be rock solid. I mean every single product used to be heavy duty and well made. NOTANYMORE. What happened? This set has a poor quality extension rod, broke shortlyafter the purchase.

Broke on the first stud
Would Not RecommendPoor construction. Flimsy Materials. Seriously get a thicker single piece drill bit. You'll spend the same amount on a better 1 piece drill bit. Completely useless. Drill bit either doesn't bite at all or instantly bites in completely stopping the bit or applying high forces at the chuck. Used the shorter extension with the bit to start and the second time it started to bit in the extension broke right at the quick release because they removed half the material of the rod to "key" it in. then ...
Bit would not stay in.
Would Not RecommendUsed it twice and on the second hole. Bit came off. Would not lock back in.

Broke first time
Would Not RecommendBoth bits broke on their first hole. Ended up have to cut hole in drywall and use a spade bit, which worked great in same spot.
Beware, didn't work for me.
Would Not RecommendShaft broke within seconds of using it and bit head would not grab wood and start boring hole.
