Ratings & Reviews for Gerber 15 -Piece Suspension NXT Butterfly Multi-Tool

Building maintenance

Carry mine everywhere. Comes in handy when I don't have my regular tools with me.

Disappointed

Major downgrade from original Suspension. Lost my old one and picked the NXT because it was the only one my sporting goods store had in stock and figured it would be an upgrade. Handles were misaligned. Only the tools on the knife side work well. The entire side with the Phillips driver were a pain to operate. I had to use my flat head on my other edc multi tool to pry and get the awl and file to open. Then blast lubricant to get them to work loose. I have to jiggle the release lever to get them...

utility man

Not a bad multi tool to have around at the camp, but when it goes out of adjustment, say like when the pliers go slightly out of alignment, it's near to impossible to find, or have at the ready, whatever the small tool is to tighten up the screws, rendering the main tool almost useless. I have a garage and basement full of tools, and I am yet to find anything to fit. Is this some sort of proprietary trick?

Gerber

Excellent tool. Very easy to use. I'm always outside and when I need something to cut weedeater line, open a gallon of paint, and other backyard items. This tool has been solid in it's performance.

Nice bang for the buck

I received this as a present from my daughter. I am a bit of a multitool addict so she thought I'd like it to add to my collection and she was right. I'm an aircraft mechanic and my EDC is the Gerber Center drive with bit kit and it works out great for my line of work but it's a bit bulky to wear after work for just doing day to day running around so this will work out nicely and the pocket clip makes it easy to just slip in my pocket and go. It's lightweight and has a good toolset. Anyway, good...

Great product

I'm an arborist and I break multitools left and right but this one has lasted me months and I cant have anything between my waist and the saddle so the pocket carry is exactly what I need. I love this thing and recommend it to everyone.

Useful, but has weaknesses

Overall useful set of tools. However, the screws/nuts holding it together are very weak. I barely touched the pocket clip and the nut broke off of the screw holding the assembly together.

Jack of all, Master of none..

I received my Gerber Suspension NXT as a gift. I have used every tool it has, and have no major issues with the multi tool. The knife holds a very sharp edge, sissors have worked pretty good, can opener/bottle opener works, the screw drivers also work, the file even works and came in pretty handy, the needle nose pliers works good, the only issue I have had is the wire cutters. They could be a little sharper, so I fixed mine. A Drimel and the right bits fixed the wire cutters. Other then that it...

Christmas Gift

Got this for my fiance and he loves it! Uses it daily

Not so good

For someone with small hands it’s hard to get a good grip and press pressure , it’s hard to fold down the tools.

Residential construction and handyman

My tool came in perfect working order, there is no play and all the tools lock and unlock with ease, I clean and oil it regularly and it still looks brand new. I use it when at the RC flying field, at work everyday and camping whenever I get to go, for the price the quality is excellent. No tool will ever hold up when abused and not cared for so it's not a lifetime tool for morons but it has and looks as though it will be with me for plenty more years to come.

Nobody Important

I just bought the Gerber Suspension NXT. So far I am impressed how much rugged functionality has been fit into this multi-tool. It's also light enough so it doesn't feel weighty in your pocket but it is heavy enough to be able to handle those immediate jobs when you don't have time to run back to the tool shed to get the right tool.

Skilled laborer

My Gerber NXT is as awesome as all of my other Gerber Gear. Exactly what I've come to expect from Gerber. A very versatile tool.

Awesome

I love my multi tool I've had it for a few years now and I Love my mom bought for me for Christmas and it is pretty sturdy and a good self defense tool.

Meh

It feels good in your hands, but it's low quality. The tools block and are hard to close, the handles for the pliers are not aligned together and the pocket clip is flimsy. The knife cuts really well and the pliers are solid.

Had mine for years

I've had my multi-tool for about 10 years now and it has always performed perfectly.
