Ratings & Reviews for Gerber 15 -Piece Suspension NXT Butterfly Multi-Tool

Best bang for your buck

I'm an aircraft mechanic and I use this thing non stop with no issues. This is the cheapest full sized multi tool you will find with locking tools, a deep carry clip, and spring loaded pliers. And with a little practice it can easily be opened and used with one hand. If you want a budget option but still need something that pulls its own weight, this is it . Does it fling open with the flick of a wrist? No. Does it get the job done for 1/3 of the price? All day long. I will say this... don't exp...

Fingers beware!

Once any of the 15 tools are pulled out and locked into place, it is impossible to unlock the tool. In order to unlock a tool (including the blade), one must pull the lock towards your body with one finger, while the other fingers try to close the blade before the tiny unlock window closes. This puts your fingers at high risk of being cut by the blade! I have cut my fingers every time I use all of my strength to unlock the blade. Horrible lock/unlock mechanism.

Production Supervisor

I have been looking for a Gerber that is easy to use and fits in my pocket. I did some research and Suspension-NXT had everything I was looking for and still not too bulky. I am very pleased with my purchase!

Good product bad pocket clip

It's a great product for my EDC. The pocket clip is so flimsy and low quality and below what I expect from Gerber.

Kinda good

I bought this and it seems good but the blade came with a dent on the edge and the handles when closed have about a 1/4 inch of play and the clip comes loose and is generally low quality not too impressed but it works.

Worthless

Would not use another one if it was given to me as a gift. Much less pay anything for it again. Two of the "tools" broke on me the first week. I kept using if for another couple of days before if fell off my belt due to cheap belt clip. I'll stick to the Leatherman.

Everyday usage

Always in my pocket unless I’m sleeping. Perfect for the everyday “ tighten this, open that “ Also recommend Sheffield 7076 Sh Flip Head Multi Tool. Love the full size wire cutter and flip to crimper.

Bad

When I open the rule, awl and screwdriver it jammed I tried to pull the safety lock down it did not come down so it jammed.

Quality control issues

I bought the Gerber Suspension NXT about a year ago. I had to send it in for a warranty issue. The scissors spring broke. Gerber provided excellent customer service and my issue was fixed quickly. Overall it is a decent medium use multi tool. My only other complaint is that when it is closed there is way too much play in the plier handles. They will bend about a 1/4 of an inch. There should have been a better way to secure the handles when the pliers are not deployed.

Perfect tool, almost.

Has everything needed for general use, only downfall is it does not come with a carrying case like Leatherman's do.

perfect for EDC. good to have in a pinch when out and about. will work for on the job chores, but i prefer to carry a center drive for those....

Good Deal

This multi-tool is a good deal for the price. Good features like a pocket clip, locking accessories and spring assisted open on the pliers.

Perfect for junk drawer

This has made a great addition to our junk drawer. It’s amazing to have for last minute repairs.

Great buy

Work's great use it almost every day and it's still not working great.

The mutipurpose of the pilers is very helpful in my day day tasks at work. The belt clips could be better though the quality should be better.
