1 step forward two steps back

This purchase was pretty much an instant regret unfortunately, I hoped it was an upgrade from our Samsung debacle but apparently it's no longer important for you to enter the cook time with GE. It should be in 15 sec increments, well not the case with baby formula and not the case with eggs. The sterile light also belongs in hospital setting and not a home. Also we vent outside but this is still blowing air inside as well, no one with common sense made this. I'll see if I can convince wife...

Hoped for better

It is loud when it is running and the vent assembly is crooked. There is service order pending, but the work is still not finished and a part is on back order

Works great, easy install

Replaced 12 year old GE convection that kept blowing cooktop bulbs. Simple install, similar controls as my older version, sans convection that I don’t think I ever used. We followed the instructions to install, and then figure out that it would have fit exactly into the old frame, so wasted about an hour removing the old wall connections…. Great having a dial to easily add seconds, or can just hit 30 second button a few times. LOVE the pull out vent that covers the entire cook surface! ...

Poor control panel. Noisy

Not a fan of the lack of numbers pad. You must twist a knob to set a time and it goes in 15 second increments. After 4 minutes then it goes to 30 second increments. Also vent fan is VERY noisy

GE Missed the Mark on This One!

I’ve always trusted GE because their microwaves used to feel solid and well built. This model does not. The door sounds tinny and hollow when closing, and the bottom vent panel rattles while in use. It works, but it feels cheaply made. If build quality and noise matter to you, look elsewhere.

Vent and lights

Love the capacity of this monster! I however do not love the "white" display light, a little more "blinding" than the softer light of its greenlit counterparts. Wish the vent go from low to medium then high instead of the reverse- too loud it startles at first!

Get Rid Of The Knob

We replaced another GE profile microwave with this one since I wanted a microwave that had a an exhaust fan that extended over the front burners (my stove has the large burners in the front). My husband swapped them out pretty easily. The one I replaced was powerful and heated things very quickly. I love the ability to press on the hood and have the exhaust fan extend over the front burners to help suck up the smells (from frying in particular). Not as good as the previous model

This was a replacement for our 6 year old GE microwave. First, it is noisy when it starts then quiets down a bit. Seems like something is out of balance. There is no nightlight feature. It seems to have less feature than our old one.

Shows 4 grease filters, only comes with 2

I have spoken with two different agents, chatted with another agent, and two out of the three are insisting on gaslighting me that this unit only has 2 grease filters despite the photos on this page showing 4 and the owner’s manual referencing 4. My unit only came with the front two that are only used when the hood is extended. I would love to buy the two for the back that are always exposed and used when the exhaust is being used. Too Much Knob Turning and Pushing

The push button knob is very annoying. Instead of a keypad with 10 digits you have to push and turn this knob to enter numbers. A lot of pushing and turning of the knob. For microwave time, the time is in 15 second increments, with a keypad you could put in exactly the time you want. Not a well thought out design.

Bad Idea

Great power and serviceability!

Great microwave, installation was easy including exhaust installation and all the features and usability. Except... The GE Chef Connect is an absolute nightmare of impossibility, that is precisely where the three stars come from otherwise it would be five stars. And I'll drop that more if connection is a bust.

Bad Fail-Safety

I want to talk about the bone-headed idea of the microwave not running w/o food in it. Running a microwave w/o food in it is bad for the microwave---correct. So, having the microwave not run unless food is in it is a good idea! How has GE acheived this? It does this by monitoring the door opening and closing. DUMB! I can run the microwave with food in it and if I come back to it 10 minutes later to restart, I can't! If I open and close the door, it will start. Why does it not know that the door ...

Good Microwave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the cook - reheat feature. I can put leftovers on a plate and automatically cooks to the desired time and doneness. I would rate this appliance higher, but I find that the select knob require too many clicks to perrform an action.

Really nice appliance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far so good. Very nice appliance, and obvious quality. I like the ergonomic controls and roller dial rather than keypad to set cook duration. I'm still getting used to the dark gray interior. It'll grow on me eventually. The exhaust fan is crazy powerful and the ability to connect to exterior venting is a huge bonus.

Worked Less Than One Year!

This microwave has shorted out. Not heating at all. Sounded like an electronic arcking within the control pad. Instantly quit heating.

Solid so far

It looks good in the Kitchen. It has many features that we like and use. So far, no issues with it. Installation was a pain.
