Better than gas
Would RecommendI've cooked with gas for over 40 years. Moved to a condo with no gas service, so I installed GE induction. I was amazed at the degree of control over temperature and the SPEED of heating. I'll never go back to gas.

Would RecommendLove how fast it heats. The noise when it starts up is really not as bad as other reviews I have read. Top cleans easily. The only complaint is the lines for centering your pan are hard to see.

Love except for the buzzing
Would RecommendWe have been loving cooking on this induction cooktop. Everything cooks perfectly and we love how the surface is so easy to wipe up. Nothing bakes on there because the surface isn’t hot. Love! It does buzz more than I had hoped when it is in use. I have read that heavier high quality pans may decrease the noise but we have not tried that yet.

Fabulous cook top
Would RecommendWhat a dream to cook on. It is fast to heat the pan/food and quickly reduces the heat also. Hard to believe but faster and more controlable than gas. Also doesn’t heat the kitchen very much. Only certain types of pans work on induction so be aware of that. Easy to find them and the sizes you want. Love it love it....

I love this cooktop!
Would RecommendFirst time cooking with induction and I really like it! Temperature control is excellent and heat up time is very quick. While not necessarily a cooking comment, I can tell you that the super fast boiling offered by induction has saved us since our water heater went out (waiting for the new one). GE has done an excellent job in the design of this appliance. All the controls are in a convenient spot and are intuitive. Overall, this is one of the best appliances I've purchased.

Would Not RecommendI'm an induction cooktop fan. I've had several. This is the most expensive one I've bought. It cooks like an induction cooktop should, though I've had cooktops that cook more evenly, rather than in pulses on low heat. The big disappointment is the timer. On all induction cooktops I've had before the timer controls the cooking elements. Set the time and the element shuts off when the set time is reached. That's very convenient. Would RecommendMy household consist of two people, me and my spouse. This is our third induction cooktop. One of the things we have learned is for everyday run of the mill cooking, a basic cooktop like the GE Profile cooks just as well as its more expensive competitors. It may not be as "fancy" or with all the "bells and whistles" but for us it is perfect.
