What Customers Are Saying

Customers are sharply divided on these aluminum nails. Most report significant durability issues, with nails bending or breaking during normal installation, particularly in harder materials. However, some find them adequate for light-duty repairs on soft materials like vinyl siding when hammered carefully. Reviewers consistently cite the material's softness as problematic despite acknowledging corrosion resistance. A smaller group appreciates the head size and lightweight design, though even satisfied users note limitations. Overall, performance depends heavily on application and technique, leaving many frustrated while others find specific uses worthwhile.

Best siding nails

Would Recommend

Great for siding. But would not use them for anything else. Lightweight, no corrosion and half the price of similar nails. Used it on vinyl siding

4 out of 5 nails bent before we could hammer them in. They suck. Our project took 5 times as long as it should have because of this.

At least three quarters of these nails bent as we were driving them in. Extremely poor quality.

Bend really easy

Would Not Recommend

This was what the Lowe's employee recommended when I told him I was looking for siding nails to replacing vinyl siding on our house after adding a sliding door. I'm not particularly good at driving a nail, but I bent A LOT especially when the angle was tricky while putting on the J Channel. Even my very handy husband bent some when he was helping me.

Useless

Would Not Recommend

I but this nail to fasten aluminum flashing to a 6 x 6 wood column. Initially, I thought it was the 26 gauge aluminum that was the problem due to the nails bending and breaking before piercing the metal. Next, I pre-drilled a hole through the aluminum and slightly into the wood post, but the nails bent and broke with this method as well. I had to pre-drill thr hole where the ring-shanks provided the only resistance while driving them in with a hammer. 10% of those still broke when hammering them...

Basic Aluminum Siding Nails

Would Recommend

Nothing to really say here. They are actual aluminum material nails needed to avoid galvanic corrosion with your aluminum siding. Just remember they are aluminum and roughly 1/3 as stiff as galvanized roofing nails so they will bend easily and the heads rip off if you try to pry them out.

Not strong enough

Would Not Recommend

Pounding into 1/2 inch strand board, 50% or better bent. I threw away more than I used.
