What Customers Are Saying
Customers praise the rustic aesthetic and affordability, with many loving the natural imperfections and final stained or painted appearance. However, significant quality control issues dominate feedback—reviewers report widespread damage including broken tongues, splits, and warped edges, with many stating only 1-3 usable planks per six-pack. High waste rates of 20-50% force customers to purchase substantially more material than planned. Despite these frustrations, most find the lightweight, easy installation and low cost worthwhile for achieving an attractive rustic look, though careful board selection is essential.

Would RecommendLove this product! I installed it using both adhesive as well as Brad nails because my walls aren't perfectly flat, but went up very easily and it also stained very well. My one and only complaint is almost every board was either chipped, broken or cracked, so I ended up buying extra packs just to make sure I had enough solid boards.

Don't waste your time and money
Would Not RecommendVery low quality, tons of waste. I could only use a couple of slats per package, and I bought 7 different bundles. Very frustrating and wasteful.

Wonderful Product!
Would RecommendI have used this product multiple times for chair rails, ceilings, cabinet backs, etc. I have always had an excellent outcome and it is so much easier to use and better looking than paneling. Other users have commented that some of the boards in the package may be damaged, however I have found that Lowes allows returns on whatever boards are damaged as long as there are enough to add up to a complete package. Because of this, I always buy an extra couple of packages to make up for the reality th...
just what i was looking to use.
Would Recommendi still like using real wood and it's pretty easy to use. tongue and groove is the way to go. i used it for my ceiling in my addition. I would recommend it for ceilings.

Quality unacceptible
Would Not RecommendI purchased this to cover the walls in a 14 x 20 room. Although I had read about previous customers finding a poor quality I purchased anyway. I bought 16 cases and found at least one piece of each case totally unusable. Other pieces had areas which had to be cut off due to no / damaged tongue and/or groove. Several pieces were scorched from the milling process. Those were usually buried in the stack of 6. During my purchase I weeded through the available packages and selected those which I thou...
GREAT LOOK
Would RecommendGREAT ITEM, GREAT LOOK , PS everything is costume built in this kitchen, a lot time involved and money , the walls were the easiest to do ,, takes little higher skill level tho, take your time ,, DYI // YOU CAN DO IT will have about 10 to 15 % WASTE , DAMAGE PLANKS // Use a lot them over doors , and above and below windows ,, or place will not see such behind stove , or furniture, to keep cost down ps these planks treated with 2 coats // with semi gloss polyurethane
Good if all the pieces were uniform
Would Not RecommendEasy to use, easy to cut, but on average, 2 of the 6 pieces in the package were not able to use due to rough edges. bark still showing on the ends.

Good Product
Would RecommendI have never worked with tongue and groove paneling before but this product is making it easy. As with other reviews I will tell you that you need to check the packages before you buy. make sure you have good edges. All in all my wife and I are loving the end product with the walls we are doing in our converted loft.
Over 1/3 of what we got was waste
Would Not RecommendWe bought this to use to cover a ceiling and we were really disgusted at the amount of waste we had. Over a 1/3 of each package was worthless because the tongue and groove wasn't in decent enough shape to be able to use it or because the board itself was split up the middle. My husbands been a carpenter for over 45 years and is very good at *making things work*. Id be amazed if the typical diy person would manage to use 1/2 of a package. There are 2 grades..regular and economy. Waste on the regu...
Good for the money
Would RecommendThis is a good product for the money. The price allows you to get rid of boards that have major defects.

False Economy
Would Not RecommendPurchased 20 packages of this product (120 pieces) for installation in an off-grid cabin in the mountains, assuming about 10% scrap for a 4'/8' staggered installation. "Economy" wood generally means narrow, thin, plenty of knots and irregular coloring. It should not mean junk. Of the 120 pieces, about 1/3 were fully usable, 1/3 could be used by cutting off bad ends, fixing warpage, and accepting substandard appearance. Forty of the 120 pieces were so bad they could not be used at all, requiring ...
quality control NON-EXISTENT!
Would Not RecommendThis product is FULL of cracks, splits and deformities that make portions of almost every length (96") unusable. I initially decided NOT to use this product because of the terrible quality, but then bought it after realizing the dimensions of the trim were exactly what I needed. I had to cut a full 36 inches off one of the trim pieces because of a huge split. I would estimate that at least 30-40% of this product in not usable due to poor quality. By poor quality, I mean gouges in grooving, crack...

Not a Good Quality Plank
Would RecommendThe BAD: I'm a bit disappointed with this product. I bought 5 packages, and after opening them, found at least one or two planks to be entirely unusable (so one of the five packs was trash#, and probably 70% of them warped, or twisted a bit, or with lots of loose knots or knot holes, and split groves. Just not a decent quality at all, even for economy. The GOOD: Inexpensive, easy to install, attractive #after finding enough good planks), and reasonably durable. I would recommend these, but onl...
Cheaply Made
Would Not RecommendThis product is very cheaply made. I purchased 15 packages, and I would say that 13 of them had something wrong with multiple boards. Either the knots had rather large holes in them (sometimes half an inch wide) or they were cut at an angle (preventing them from locking with each other). The ONLY plus I can say about this product is that it is lightweight enough to where you can install it on your own. I read the reviews before I purchased this, but still went with it. Let me tell you - these ...

"Econony" paneling, key word here
Would Not RecommendWell, I expected to get what I paid for, but the quality control of this stuff is unbelievably bad. Out of 9 packages (54 boards) I went through 8 pieces before I found one I could use all 8 feet of. Quite a few needed at least a foot cut off the end before even starting. I would say for an acceptable job, figure 10-20% waste. For a nice job, 20-30 % waste. If you're picky, go buy the better stuff as the overall cost will probably be less. It is nice looking stuff and the good pieces are quite n...
ok product
Would Not RecommendEven after hand selecting bundles there was a lot of pieces that were sub standard, probably 40% to 50%. If you have a lot of short cuts usage is ok but still more waste than there should be. The packaging quality control could / should be a lot better

Be Careful
Would Not RecommendProduct looks nice in the package but when I opened it up there were pieces on the bottom that had bark on the edges and were not full width. There were also some knots on some of the edges a few of which fell out when I tried to use them. I had to cut some edges off to fit around some trim so I was able to work around the problem areas but the packaging hid some problems.

Looks great
Would RecommendI used this product to refinish the complete interior of an old mobile home that I converted into a mountain retreat cabin. The 1/4 inch thickness worked well over 20mm plywood backer board and was relatively easy to install with a power stapler which resulted in approximately 1/2 inch wall thickness rather than 3/4 inch for typical knotty pine T&G wall board. As titled, the finished cabin looks fantastic. I rated the quality as average since we found at least one plank with defective tongue or...

Cheap product, for good and bad
Would Not RecommendEvery 3rd plank was a discard - so you might as well get the 15$ premium product. Oh well.

8-ft Stain Grade Knotty Pine V-Groove Wainscot
Would RecommendI used this to cover the seams in a ceiling that was dry-walled. It had a few pieces that had knotts on the edges, so if you used this product for Wainscoting application you may not be satisfied. But for my purposes, it did just fine.
