Ratings & Reviews for Empava 36 inch Convertible 500-CFM Stainless steel Under Cabinet Range Hood

Work as expected

The range hood looks great. It's a little noisy but not too bad. The sucking power is a little weak but expected based on the stats for this product.

Fan has good power

It was fairly easy to install, except it is rather heavy. A template for drilling the screw holes would have been helpful. I do love the look of it with the blue digital display. The fan is fairly quiet, and has lots of power at the higher speeds.

Very nice unit

Had this installed today, and it is quite nice. Has 4 speed settings and other than the highest setting, it is reasonably quiet compared to my old one. The lights are bright and the system comes with a remote control. It was shipped to my home and the box was slightly crused on the top causing a small dent on the under side of the unit, but hardly noticeable. No problems with the working of the unit. Overall I'm pleased with this item having only had it installed one day.

VERY Loud

It looks nice and I like the slim look to it. I read the reviews before I purchased and noticed some complaints of loudness. Didn't think it could be that bad, BOY WAS I WRONG. I have an open kitchen and living room layout and the TV can't be heard over the sound of the vent when it's turned on. I can't help but wonder if the reviews on this site is for two different models. I have the push button hood vent. Seriously considering sending it back!

Excellent range hood

We ordered this range hood due to its high CFM capability. We do a lot of cooking at home, creating quite a bit of steam and cooking smells. The Empava Range Hood takes care of all of it. The LED lights do a good job of lighting the work surface, and all of the controls are easy to use. We ducted directly to the outdoors using the required 6" duct. There were several options for duct shape however, making it easy for us to choose our configuration. The best feature is the dishwasher safe ...

razor sharp edges

Pretty happy with the operation of the range hood. However, the removeable baffles have razor sharp edges on the inside. They are quite easy to disassemble to put into the dishwasher, but the edges of the metal are like razor blades. I had 3 deep cuts on my fingertips from trying to wipe out some of the grease with paper towels. Be aware of the edges. The edges should be chamfered or buffed or rounded or something safer that raw razor edges. Also, the included bulbs are very dim. Easily re...

Powerful Range!

We cook every day and this range is very powerful and also looks elegant.

Way too loud

The description says up to 65 Dbs. I don't think low setting is lower than that. Its way too loud. On High you have to shout and you cannot hear anything around you. I feel like my hearing is being damaged.

I am 50/50 on this product. The price was high and heavy. The good part is that they will call and text you non stop asking your opinion on the product. The little remote that comes with the product is cool to have but not necessary at all. The fan gets VERY loud since there are two heavy duty ones. If you don't mind the high noise, you should be fine.

Very Loud

I purchased this fan because it had simple mechanical switches and the fan motors have a 5 year warranty. However, this fan is very, very loud. Even on the lowest setting it’s much louder than our previous fan that lasted 6 years. I’m going to add a variable speed fan adjuster to the inputs to see if I can lower the noise this thing makes.

Sleek and Modern Design But Ridiculously Loud

We ordered this hood online after measuring the space where it would be installed. We were replacing a 36" ducted vent hood. When installed, this item did not fit completely and there were gaps around the edges. While we liked the look of this product, we were not thrilled with the fan. It was very loud and would have been difficult to hold a conversation with any people while using it. For the price, the buttons were a bit dated (no digital screen). The lights were a harsh white and only illumi...

Best Range Hood in the Market

This range hood has everything that I am looking for. it is easy to install. the power suction is good. it come with two fan. The dimension is perfect for my kitchen. I would recommend for the next buyer.

Good value

This fan hood looks great, and was easy to install. I like the flexable 8inch connecter duct. It works well. I wish the lights were a little brighter.

Love the Power

I really love the power of this range hood. It is designed to be so powerful that it will collect the grease for you in a little tray. You never have to clean the permanent filters (even though you can remove them if you want) The controls are simple (I didn't want digital) and very effective. The power is amazing.

This hood is a very good buy for the money.

It is very easy to operate with push buttons and no electronics to go out or fail.

Maybe just bad luck but barely works.

The suction is fairly nonexistent. There is air blowing out the vent but the fans don’t seem to be pulling air in. Barely will hold a tissue against the filter.

Great addition to new kitchen

Look at a lot of different range hoods. I was impressed by the quality and performance of this hood. Looks greats and works even better. Would recommend it. The only flaw, if you want to call it that, is that it is slightly less than 30 inches wide. Less than an 1/8" gap on either side.
