Would RecommendWorks as pictured! I was amazed how such little heat going through the cord made such a difference. I put it up toward the end of winter, but it still did the job. I’ll definitely put it up before the first snowfall next time. All in all, I was first looking for something to cover more area, but I realized I just needed to get the valley portion of my roof and the gutter that led to the downspout for it to be most effective.

I removed the old de-icing system and the wire was super stiff! I was happy that the new wire was much easier to work with! The Chinese to english translation needs to be refined, along with going with a bigger print. You need to buy the separate control As you can not just plug this in and forget it! ( that controller has wiring, which was short, both for the A/C cord ( using a preexisting outside outlet) and an extra wide eves, to get the temperature probe into the bottom of the gutter.
Be ready for snow melt.
Would RecommendLast year we had a large area on our roof above the gym entrance. This area laid heavy with ice. We have not had the need to use it yet. Just from the install, it will make the doorway much safer.

Would Not RecommendThis would work if you had ample space 2 mount it and some sort of different wire security system. However, be prepared to destroy shingles or some of your roofing material if you follow the instructions. The clips are very evasive and I did not want to risk ruining my roof for a heating kit. Ended up just laying the wire up there and then took it down after a few weeks and returned it because no way to secure it without destroying my roof. Definitely not worth the aggravation. Would RecommendGreat product - very effective - freeze a cup of ice around the end in your freezer, tear off the plastic cup, and drop the ice end down your downspout so it goes all the way to bottom.
