leaking grease

my saw has been used 2 times a total of 10 minutes and starting leaking oil from the gear housing nrar the blade.

a MUST HAVE FOR ANY WORKSHOP!

AMPS rating for this beast is on point! POWER POWER POWER ! The stops for this is perfect and so many angel and height adjustment stops that even my wife ran out of reasons to say no...and thank god for the safety features ...she is a clutz so another reason she is saying yes yes yes

Handyman

I do handyman work and got this saw to support the variety of work that I do. It is amazing how much easier this saw makes angle and large cuts compared to my previous miter saw. It has the power and the blade capacity to easily cut 4x4s, 2x8s, and 2x10s.

does everything it suppose to , some parts are made cheap , but the saw works great , and get the stand for it also

I bought my first DeWalt miter saw in 2000, it worked great. I made 1000’s of cuts with it always stayed true. The saw still works great. I needed a saw that would cut through 12” wide boards. The best saw for the price

It is an excellent saw and, for the price difference for this vs the latest version, is almost a no-brainer. Admittedly this doesn't have a blade light and weighs 20+ pounds more, but those are the only deficits for a very significant price difference. The saw performs in all respects.

Very reliable tool

Not only has my saw been used to cut trim, it’s been used to cut framing material as well. Very dependable saw, mine has gotten wet, had paint sprayed all over it, and been knocked around a time or two in the bed of the truck. Yet this tool still makes great cuts.

Good but needs to be better

Good bones, some improvements needed for a saw at this level. Dust collection entrance, pipe and collection bag are those expected on a child's toy. In fact, when I hooked up a dust collection system to the say (after buying too expensive adapters), it sucked the thin rubber dust collection entrance closed. Not functional at all. The 80 tooth finish blade should be provided or at least a 60 tooth general purpose blade instead of a rough-cut blade just to check-off a deal.

Motor bearing

Bought the dws779 1-2 years ago. Been listening to a “growl” and today the motor shaft bearing disintegrated. Is this saw made of lower quality parts than its more expensive counterpart? If so, I need to return today’s purchase!!

Overall great with a odd problem.

Yes, it’s powerful and accurate. Easy to clean up etc. works great with the matching Dewalt folding stand. I bought it specifically for a big deck project. Which included cutting a lot of treated 4 X 4s. Imagine my surprise when I saw that it wouldn’t cut through a 4 X 4 (3 1/2” square). It always leaves a small piece uncut, maybe 1/8”. The clamp on the left side of the blade mount is what interferes by hitting the wood and preventing the blade cutting full depth. If someone can tell me how to ...

Amazing saw, on way to repair shop within 2 months

I love everything about this saw, Besides the fact that I already need to use the warranty on it. The Motor is having issues running at full speed, and the Slow down or (brake) is making horrible noises. Only used on 3 jobs. Not very big jobs either. Service center was more than Helpful and will be taking a look at it in the next few days.

Very good saw and a workhorse.

Have had two of these previously and they work flawlessly. No risk in buying another one.
