Horrible Dust Collection

I purchased this saw a year ago and have used it to build chairs, coffee tables, and end tables. The saw is solid and accurate. The fence and clamp are excellent. The reason for the low rating is poor dust collection. The shroud and snorkel with bag catch very little dust. Even with a shop vac attached to the snorkel, most dust is blown to the left of the shroud. This problem is well documented online. My biggest complaint is the lack of solution from Dewalt. Mixed emotions

Don’t get me wrong. I love this saw and how useful it is but in my opinion it’s a little on the heavy side. Obviously it’s a big saw and it’s gonna be heavy. It is very helpful when cutting taller baseboard or crown molding for a whole house and saves a lot of time but personally I wouldn’t be pulling this big guy out just to replace a couple pieces. Overall it’s a good bang for your buck.

12" Dbl Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw

Just bought this saw, I have other DeWalt products so I'm sure it will perform well. I do have an issue with the included accessories, there are none. No blade wrench, dust bag, vertical material clamp, or instruction manual. I downloaded and printed the manual, but the other parts are going to add additional cost I was not planning on (especially since the parts were to be included). Non Standard Vacuum Attachment

I need to do a very atypical thing. I need to attach a vacuum to the dust port on the back of the DWS779. But it was designed to be non standard so you have to spend even more money. I cannot afford to buy every adaptor hoping to find one that fits. So my question is: What Dewalt vacuum adaptors fit the DWS779?

Powerful, but Plastic Parts? One broke 2+ months

There is some good here, and that is the power that this saw has... which can also be a bit dangerous, so pay attention. The torque on this thing wants to suck the blade in. I also like the double bevel option. On the negative side, and why I gave this 2 stars is the plastic on this in the operating zone. Today, while cutting some lumber, the plastic piece (maybe the rear guard) broke off. Sadly, I can't find a parts list anywhere to narrow down what part this is and what I need to ask for. ...

Great Deal 1 year after still works great

Did 2000 sq ft of laminate flooring, cuts great and outside deck made work easy.

Amazing saw

Got this saw for Christmas from my wife and it is amazing. It also came with the saw stand that can support up to 16 ft material! I have made so many home improvements with this saw since I got it. From baseboards to ceiling crown, bookshelves to accent walls. This saw is great and easy to use. The slide is smooth and the power is there to cut through all materials with ease. I would highly recommend to anyone in a business needing a sliding miter saw or even the home DIYer.

You miter's well get it

This saw is phenomenal! I love it's power, versatility, and great features!! The only thing I would recommend is getting a new 80-tooth blade for more precise cuts. The factory installed blade does work fine though, but I prefer an 80-tooth. Of course, it just depends on what kind of cutting you're going to be doing. Dewalt is my go-to for tools, and this one has not disappointed me in the least!

Horrible fence accuracy

I’ve gone through multiple saws now. Each one the lower fence is not co-plane. Something is causing them to bend inward in the ends and gap in the middle. Perfect 90 degrees on the left and slightly off on the right. There are no adjustments for this since the fence is one piece.

Good but not great

Overall this is a beast of saw. The power and cut capacity are outstanding. This thing will handle anything you throw at it and overall I'm quite happy with the saw. That being said there's always room for improvement. While this thing has all the power you could want it needs a soft start to reduce jumping and breaker tripping. The hold down clamp is the same bad clamp every miter saw comes with. It works but takes 5 minutes to set up so you'll never use it. Then there's the space issue. Like m...

Great saw for the price, bought it when they were offering the stand for free. Cuts nicely, easy set up and light enough that its not a burden to move.

Dewalt tools are the best

JUst what we were looking for to meet our needs.. Good product.

Large heavy saw,

to big of an animal for my hands and body to manage, arthritis in my thumbs and hands make it to much of a saw for me to use. I plan to return the unused saw.

Great saw

The only bad thing about this saw is how heavy is it. Not something you want to move around a lot.
