Not for hardened steel
This bit works well for mild steel but will not touch hardened steel after the “pilot” tip cuts in. The pilot tip cuts it like butter, but once the shoulders of the bit hits the steel it’s done. It’s a shame, if the whole cutting edge were made of the same material or same geometry the pilot tip is made up of, this would be a great bit.

Low wear, fast cutting
Would RecommendBought this drill bit after burning our two on hard steel in just 2 holes. One of these allowed me to finish 4 more hole and the bit still has life left in it. I was surprised. Advertised at 4X life of other quality bits. It is every bit of that for a 5% higher price.
