Great drill bit.

Went through steel that had nojen several other brands bits.

Worked well

This bit worked well until I attempted to uses it to help drill out a bolt. It lasted all of 2 seconds and instantly dulled. Unfortunately I haven’t yet tried to sharpen it.

Due to the tip of this bit, it does not walk around when starting a new hole.

These drill bits are the only drill bits that i have found to drill holes in quality steel. Of course, they do wear out, but their usefulness life far exceeds any other bits. I will keep buying these bits exclusively when I need to drill holes in metal.

Make sure to use oil if drilling metal. Went through a lot of these expensive bits until my buddy stopped me.

Great Bit

I was in a bind replacing a faucet handle that was loose, except I couldn't back the old screw out. This bit drilled out the old handle in no time so I was able to finish my project.

Very good drill bit

De Walt is not my favorite brand, but this is a very good bit. Cobalt is much stronger than HSS. It works well on most materials. I especially like the De Walt starter tip. It does not skate on the material. Cobalt costs more than HSS, but it is worth it..

No holds barred.

I was recommended this bit by a Lowes employee to be able to drill through steel plates. The titanium bits I had home were not up to the job. I drilled through the plates with this bit with the greatest of ease. I drove through an assortment of steel plates and the bit did not fail me. It is still sharp and functional ready for further metal drilling with the greatest of ease.

Doesn't Work for Tempered Steel

Tried to use this drill bit to open up a hole in a saw blade for mounting purposes. Even though the package said it was designed to be used on stainless steel, the drill bit didn't even get through one hole without significant bit damage. Had to return it but fortunately Lowe's graciously accepted the return with no questions beyond my explanation. May work well for wood products but that's not why I paid the premium for this bit.

Package is misleading

Package indicates drill can be used for iron. It would not make a hole in iron. It was a waste of money.
