Would Not RecommendThe hammer drill functioned reasonably well. It was not as good as the Milwaukee hammer drill I've used in the past but maybe the Milwaukee was higher quality with better impact. The question in my mind is if the significantly cheaper Craftsman hammer drill would have worked as well as this DeWalt. I bought the DeWalt based on reputation of DeWalt. I might well tell a friend to try the cheaper Craftsman.

Would RecommendI only needed the hammer function to drill into a concrete pad to anchor an A/C condenser cage. I let my brother use my 1/2" drill some time ago, and he hasn't returned it, so this was the perfect opportunity to get what I needed at the moment and by a new tool. I drilled four 1/4" holes that were 2.5" deep in no time. Just the first use. I'm certain I won't need the hammer function much, but it will be nice to have it. Would Not RecommendWorks for badic home projects, usually Dewalt comes with a bag, not this. Side handle moves under hard drilling. Go for the 10 amp version.
