i was looking for their strongest drill in this midsize form,1/2" better than plastic chuck,brushless,and case and batteries. an everyday go to drill and no hammerdrill function. i got all that. i have a dedicated hammerdrill so i thought drill only might give it a longer life. i like to work out of the case...keep charger there and rotate batteries. a place for everything when done. case is fairly sturdy but no foam and so it all flops around when carried to and fro. if i was ok with that ...

Battery issues
Would RecommendThe drill is a monster. It very powerful and great working. For some reason the batteries never show a full charge when you press the back of the battery to check the battery capacity. I haven’t used it long enough to know if it will last as long as it should. I don’t know if I need to return it if the batteries aren’t fully charging. If not for this I would have given it 5 stars.

Great battery life
Would RecommendI bought this for some around the house projects and it works great. It’s powerful for my DIY projects and repairs. The battery life is excellent and doesn’t take long to recharge. I like the hard solids case for storage also.

Does not grip a round drill bit
Would Not RecommendFatal flaw in a drill: This tool does not adequately grip a round drill bit. In fact, about all it seems to do is make bits spin fast and have a pretty light. As far as getting work done, this tool does not do it for me.

Needed a new drill, got a great one.
Would RecommendSlowly converting all my cordless tools to Dewalt XR 20-Volt. This is my 5th tool in the line. I like the power and the quality. Easy to operate, feels great in my hand. The work light is an additional feature I didn't realize it had. This drill will be a drill to pass down to my sons. Great job, Dewalt.
