Simply works

Bought this to replace plumber installed one on a house. So, what this means is that the one from Lowes did not fit because it is for a trailer or something. I did not want to pay the price for the right size one. Especially thinking that they all will fail regardless of what they cost because they are all basically the same mechanism. So it was worth making an adapter for the smaller one. This adapter can be unscrewed and the larger threaded ones can also be used if I happen to get one at a yar...

Air admittance vent

The only problem I had with this valve was that the threads were external, where the location I planned to use it called for internal threads. Space was limited, so, even when I found an adapter, it was necessary to cut existing plumbing and glue in. It was a little more work than I had hoped to do, but once accomplished the valve works well.

This product stinks... literally

Does not stop sewer gases. It's going back to the store. I'll replace with a more expensive one. You get what you pay for.

Works great

I asked our plumber and was told to go with this over the vent valves that cost $20 more. Was also told the same in stores. It does the job, and that's really what counts.

Best in-wall vent

We used these when roughing-in the plumbing for the bathroom in my barn. The price is excellent for this air-activated vent. Its a great concept and design and requires no ceiling or wall vent for it to work.

This AAV worked for me

I have an older house that was built without a vent for the plumbing.I have 1-1/2" galvanized piping for the drain under the double kitchen sink.I've thought of converting all the galvanized pipe and fittings over to PVC but that would require alot of labor just to get under the house plus alot of digging under the house to do so that is out of the question for now.For me it was a rather simple install under the kitchen sink,all my plumbing comes out the floor and not out of the wall as newer ho...

Worthless

I bought this product and it made no difference in the bad smell coming from our bathroom. I replaced them with the brand that cost four times as much but immediately solved the problem.

Does not help with smell

They do NOT control the oder from under the sink. You will still get the sewer smell though the vent. Who ever made these to take the place of a vent pipe to the roof sound go back to the drawing board with a different idea.

They Just Don't Work

I have an old house that isn't drain vented the way modern houses are. I was worried about some drainage issues so I converted the kitchen sink and the washer drain to one of these AAV systems. At first I bought a pair of these black vents but when I put them on, they BOTH reeked. They simply wouldn't close off sewer gasses. I have used these on many projects with great performance. I love not having to penatrate the houses roof any more for vent stacks. I highly Recommend this vent!
