Description of our french-door refrigerator

One draw back is that the water dispenser is inside of the refrigerator frame. :( Our last refrigerator had it on the outside, so maybe I'm spoiled. It is better on the outside because when I get up in the night, which is quite frequent to get a drink of water, the brightness of the refrigerator is REALLY bright. Overview

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, very pleased. Unit is very quiet, space good for 2 people’s needs. French doors are great, bottom freezer & ice maker easy to access. Only criticism is quality of drawer tracks. Very flimsy and tend to catch if not pushed in perfectly straight! Sprayed dry silicone on tracks , and the drawers slide in and out a lot smoother!!

Perfect Delivery & Install

The delivery and install of our beautiful new Cafe French Door Refrigerator went very smoothly. The team that delivered it were very capable and professional. They had it up and running very quickly!

Temperature Issue

Aesthetically perfect, but...

This refrigerator is beautiful. I love the color. The handles add elegance. Most importantly it's beyond easy to keep clean - there are no fingerprints or smudges like stainless. But it holds less food than my last (significantly less expensive) refrigerator. The shelves and drawers are too shallow to put away groceries without playing tetris to make everything fit. Freezer space very limited.

Cafe Ref needs a 4" Filler if against a side wall

Is very important to know that if this Fridge is against a side wall, the CAFE' Refrigerators Need a 4" filler between the wall and fridge in order for the door to swing open at a 90°. Most high-end models have a hinge where the door swings within itself. For a small kitchen, 4" is a lot of storage space to lose. It's a poor Architectual design because that hinge technology does exist. The handle will bump into the side wall unless it's a shallow enough side wall in which the handle can open ...

A 9 out of 10

Love the double doors. The door shelves are great. What is disappointing is how shallow the freezer door opens. The worst part is the ice tray banging every time. It seems slightly noisier than our old GE Profile but not enough to be an issue.

Attractive functional fridge

Fridge 33inch

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don’t think the freezer has enough room for any amount of food. We could fit 3 packages of chicken and 3 packages of beef, 2 vegetables and 3 frozen fruit, and some ice cubes. Barely enough for a full week. Also the shelves don’t have enough room. The shelves aren’t interchangeable between sides. Also a gallon of milk needs to be on the right side and the 1/2 shelf has to be made 1/2.

Disappointed

After a few years, ran all time. Freezer would frost up even though the door was closed. Two parts on the French doors broke that caused some trouble when closing the doors. The water line for the ice had issues after installation and then, never quite worked right. Eventually the top part stopped cooling and now I have to replace it. It's an attractive refrigerator and I loved the bronze color, but disappointed it didn't last longer.

Counter depth appliance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A General Electric white counter-depth refrigerator was my requirement. It is a beautiful addition to my kitchen. Although I sacrificed some space with the counter depth, the trade-off is acceptable. The capacity works well for me. The configuration provides more shelves than I use. The cooling system works great, and it is much quieter than my previous appliance.
