Good printer but no great

As a printer the printouts are great. The speed of printing is not the fastest medium sized print jobs of < 50 pages take quite a long time to complete the printing. The document scanner does not handle duplex document automatically. For a printer of this size the paper tray should hold a full ream of paper which it does not, which means for a busy office a lot of paper fills are needed.

As a printer, YES. As a copier/scanner, NO.

Good for basic printing needs, but if you're looking for a scanner or copier that does double sided this is not the one for you.

Does the job!

This is the second time I've purchased this model, very reliable.

Going back to Brother was a good choice

Very happy with this printer. Easy setup and a wide range of functions. I can print from most any device in my house and scan to file on multiple devices. Setup was far less complicated and works more reliably then my previous laser printer.

My new MFCL8610DW

Very good machine, easy to set up and operate. Quality of print is amazing.

Dissatisfied

Very disappointed in Brother lately! I bought new machine and they send me a used one

Product not fulfilling expectations

Not what we thought it would be: Ink runs out much quicker than we thought it would. Sometimes things print long after we send them which ends up wasting paper because we reprint thinking it didn't go through.

An Excellent Workhorse

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've used this printer for a couple of years and absolutely love it. The only issue is that it does not duplex scan. Other than that one issue, it an absolute workhorse ready to print anyway we want, scan and fax. It makes the office run much smoother!

Retired & Frustrated

I find for such an expensive printer even though it is a little older it does not preform like I would expect for an Brother product. When I try printing on gloss product like photo paper or brochure type paper or light card stock it comes out all distorted and dripping with toner. When I try printing 2 sided it almost always jams especially like the above mentioned products. I also have a Brother MFC-J680DW printer and it does a fairly descent job printing but it is very slow when printing colo...

Dual Printer Trays is a Lifesaver!

We bought this machine because of the ability to have two paper trays. It is amazing! No more switching checks in and out with paper. It's a little slow to spool and warm up compared to an inkjet.

Slow to start printing, QBP check print problems

This unit is much slower to start printing that my prior office printers. Once it is set to the quiet mode the sound level is OK. One aggravation I have not found a solution to is getting checks to print from the MP feeder. I have tried a dozen different suggestions and QBP checks try to print horizontally. I would have returned this if I could have for this reason.

Paper curls

pages curl no matter the brand or type of paper and the print will quit, it seems, via page count not from being out of toner. pages look fine but won't print until you replace cartridge. Big waste of resources. good quality prints otherwise.
