Best throw away printer ever!

This printer is amazing! I got it for a really good price for one time use. I truly enjoy spending my hard earned money on a printer that costs me roughly 50 cents a page to print before I get to throw it away and buy a competitors printer that i can get more than one set of ink cartridges for. NO INK? Seriously?

Let's be real here... Likely, the reason these black cartridges are unavailable is due to the 'chip shortage'. These cartridges are typically chipped so the printer can identify them as genuine. DO WHAT CANON DID and ship the dang things without chips. Making sure that people are using genuine Brother cartridges is more important than making sure they're actually able to use their printer? Priorities! Seriously - SHIP THEM WITHOUT THE CHIP. We NEED to be able to print!

OK, I'm done with Brother and their products. No black ink for close to half a year now, and Brother CS only supplies the same, lame, stock answer that they care and that the ink will be available soon - heck, can't Brother even take the time to update their stock answer with usable information? I have been a loyal Brother customer for many years, however the unavailability of black ink is UNACCEPTABLE! What is the problem here? Great printer--if it had ink....

I was excited to find this printer with all of its features for the price I did. Functionality-wise, the printer is excellent. However, without the ability to find ink for it, it makes a great paperweight. I've even spoken to a Brother representative who told me to check back for ink in a couple of weeks--which was over a month ago and ink is still not available. I work from home, and the inability to print with a brand new printer is disappointing.

poor design

Although I don't use my printer often, it would be nice to have ink. With that said, it has a poorly thought out programming design. The printer will not function without an ink cartridge that has insufficient ink. I am unable to use the scanner to save a document until it can be printed if needed.
