Good generator but the shipping company is not.

This product (gas generator) is a five star but the company that delivered it or the warehouse it was stored at, didn’t care to read the message on the box. Very plainly written “this side up” with arrows to distinguish this. Obviously they didn’t pay attention to the information. The generator was delivered up right but there was oil all over everything and the oil poured out of the air filter/carburetor. Purchased new Briggs & Stratton Portable Storm Responder Generator at Lowe’s; tested new generator at home & generator does not work! No support or help from either Lowe’s or Briggs & Stratton customer service to replace it with a new generator! Two issues with brand new B&S generator.

Oil had leaked out inside the package on the plastic covering the generator and then soaked into the cardboard box. Purchased from Lowe's. It was no visible from the outside of the package. I had to add some oil to the unit. I called Briggs and Stratton who told me they don't handle generators any longer and I should call JD North America about any service issues. Poor poor customer service by Lowe's and Briggs

Didn't work right out of the box when needed before a hurricane!!!! Lowe's would not allow for an exchange or a refund because it was opened. Now how was I supposed to know it didn't work without opening it??? SO NO HELP FROM LOWE'S WHATSOEVER ON AN $800 GENERATOR! Then used a Briggs and Stratton repair shop and told it wasn't under warranty, are you kidding me? Had to pay $145 for repair! 2 outlets didn't work. it would auto-trip. the hour meter doesn't work at all, it's just blank. from the reviews, seems to have been a defective batch

Waste of money

Got around 10 hrs of running time before it wouldnt produce power anymore. Engine runs fine, there is a manufacturing defect that causes the brushes to get grind down and unusable. Even with the unit being serviced twice with new brushes and voltage meter it would stop producing after 2 hours. Hoping for a miracle with the warranty.

Very easy to operate.

We where in need of replacing our 30 year old 5000W generator. This Briggs & Stratton came complete with the necessary conveniences. A large T handle and oversized wheels.

Waste of money!

This unit has three receptacles: two for 110 or 220 and one for a 30 amp. I used the provided extension cord for my refrigerator and freezer which took about 20% of the output capacity. Can I try to use another 14 gauge outlet for other items and it didn’t work. Even though it doesn’t use the full capacity, You can only use one outlet at a time. Waste of money!

Junk

Bought this during Ian Never worked right. Would shake and vibrate. Used it for about 4 hrs a day for 3 days. Stopped working. Had it picked up and sent for repair. Didn't need to use it Until Milton. worked for 20 mins then quit. Return it for service was told the engine blew. It's now a 1000 dollar piece of junk. Have to replace it. But not with a briggs and stratton. I was never able to contact thier customer service department always advised to contact local authorized dealer. Yeah right....

Generator loaded onto pallet upside down

The product is fine but the Lowe’s employees loaded the generator onto the pallet upside down causing oil to leak everywhere. Careless mistake since the box is clearly marked with arrows indicating the right side up position

Works well, starts easily.

Works good, plenty of amps/volts to power window ac and other appliances. Only cons are it is very loud and uses about 5 gallons of gas every 4-5 hours.
