Received this tool for Christmas to replace another heavy-duty saw that was wearing out. Haven't used it much yet, but think it handle all the tasks I need it for!!

Awesome saw

Best all around jig saw i have ever used. It is smooth and has enough power to handle anything you put in front of it. Would recommend this saw to anyone.

I'm a public artist and in 1996, I received a commission to create art for a rapid transit station in Cleveland, Ohio. I bought a Bosch jigsaw and cordless drill for the project. The "Real Deal Holifeild"

This saw is worth every penny. It has a great balance and  is very well made. The small things matter here. Tool free blade changing...that works. Unlike many, Dewalt come to mind, that claim tool free, but you have to burn your fingers to get the  blade out. Long power cord is another small, but thoughtful touch. Made in Switzerland! Like a fine watch.     If I had a negative? A small LED light aimed at the cutting  line/surface would make this the absolute BEST EVER. 

Cuts like a hot knife through butter

I bought this because my old jigsaw had a blade-holder problem that I just didn't want to spend the money on to have it repaired. So, I researched several brands and settled on the Bosch. It featured a more straight-forward blade holder and guide design that was a lot less complicated than what was on my old jigsaw. This jigsaw not only cuts well but, easily stays true and straight. I also like the way it keeps the sawdust out of my way. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

A Fine Piece of Equipment

I decided on the Bosch JS470E for the reputation and recommendations from contracors and woodworkers. No problems with the tool so far and am glad that I chose this one over others.

Powerful, Quiet, easy to use, variable speed, fast

I bought this saw after reading the reviews a couple months ago and am very satisfied. I burnt up my old jig saw, but wish I had thrown it away a long time ago. The difference between this saw and my old one is like night and day. The only issue I have is the lock-on button stopped working. I plan on trying to return it and get it repaired under warranty. If the warranty turns out bad then I will come back and lower this rating because half of having a good product is standing behind it.

Good Design Features

This product was purchased for a small home project where I had to trim some baseboard for a return air grill. It was easy to use, and liked the variety of cutting blades available. I also liked the unique blade mounting feature. The jig saw was well made and easy to use. I used this saw on a job site. I was so impressed with how well it cut and handled I bought one for myself. It is the fastest cutting and most controllable saw I have ever used.

Clean, Easy Cuts!!

good power, easy to control speed

I have had this tool for a few weeks now and have used a few times. The saw cuts very easy and is easy to control.

Powerful and smooth

I bought this as my first ever jig saw and couldn't be more happier with it! I am impressed with the power it has going threw metal as well as how smooth it is to cut wood! I highly recommend this tool!

Great saw

Had an old Skil jig saw with a new blade, was cutting so slowly decided I needed a new saw. First cut with the new saw almost cut to far into the work piece. Wow, the speed of the cut really surprized me. Love the quick release blade and the variable speed trigger.

Fine addition to the shop

I have large hands, and this jigsaw accommodates them better than most. The grip is solid, comfortable and easy to handle. The only improvement would be, for me, an angled handle (lower at the back) for a more ergonomic grip. The saw performs better than most others that I've used, though how it holds up under extended use remains to be seen. Blade changes are easy and fast, a plus when doing production work. Powerful, cuts great

Cuts great and has plenty of power and has a quality feel. The only problem I have seen is the blower does not keep clear saw dust very well.

Great tool if precision is not really your goal

First of all I like Bosch. I have had many tools from them for years. but this jigsaw just falls short. We are an aerospace firm that makes custom interiors for large (A340 Airbus and Boeing up to 747) air craft. We do multimillion dollar jobs several times a year. We have been using these for about a year and are looking to replace them. The vertical cut ability is not always straight. When we are trimming at +/- 0.020" a perfectly vertical cut is mandatory.
