Well designed and built, but missing some features

I bought this saw after trying a cheaper model from a competitor. That saw had a warped show, and was underpowered. Like every other Bosch product I've owned, this saw is obviously well thought-out and solidly built. It fits your hand well, the controls are simple and easy to use, and it is obviously high quality. However, I'm giving it only four stars because it lacks integrated dust collection (you have to buy an attachment), and it has no LED light in the front to illuminate the cut lin...

Awesome Endurance and quality.

I purchased this to replace a Bosch jigsaw I bought over 20 years ago that finally gave out. When possible, I will always buy Bosh tools.

Quiet and Powerful

Other jig saws I've used were heavy, loud, and required strength to guide. The cuts were easy and straight to the line with this saw. I found the anti-chip insert to be very effective on some cheap board that had laminate on it.

Exceeds My Expectations

I debated between this and a cordless Makita since I have the battery kit and two tools I think are great. However I opted for the corded Bosch after reading a lot of reviews and realizing unlike my cordless drill and impact driver I always be using my Jig Saw close to an outlet. Heavy duty work in small space

I needed to cut an eight and one half hole through quarter inch steel and half inch concrete backer board in a tight place. I managed to brake five blades cutting into another piece of steel I could not see at the time. Being seventy four years old with arthritis I can say my hands still took a beating but not so much as the saw I wore out starting the project. Of course it was about thirty years old.

Solid Tool

This tool is well built, low vibration, and relatively quiet for a jigsaw. The long cord is also handy. One criticism is that, for the premium price that this tool commands, that Bosch would include at least a few accessories and an assortment of blades. It would cost very little, and would go a long way toward customer good will. Including blades is a good way to introduce the customer to Bosch quality, and promote future sales. Since it's German.. it the Mercedes of jigsaw's. Pure pleasure to use.

Great Tool

This is the best jigsaw that I have used. I have not used Festool’s, but I’ve read some good reviews. I have no complaints about the tool. It is on the heavy side, but I think that is a good thing. The weight makes it feel more stable and easier to manipulate on detailed cuts. I did modify the case to accommodate a Bosch blade case that I keep with the saw. It doesn’t take much for me to want to customize things though.

What a saw!!!

This saw is so over the top!!! I didn't realize just how badly I needed a quality jigsaw until I fired this baby up. It is powerful and accurate. The feel of the saw is great and the variable speed works flawlessly. This saw cuts fast and smoothly. I'm extremely satisfied with the Bosch 7-Amp jigsaw and the case is great as well!!!

Like butter

I never really needed a professional jig saw until now. I wish I would've bought this a long time ago. Worth it!!!!!

Good Saw

Purchased this saw to replace a battery-operated Bosch jigsaw that was 12 years old. I have lost the ability to get away from the shop, but the corded saw is noticeably more powerful. If this saw holds up as well as my first one, it will be a great purchase.

A real top-notch jig saw.

This is a powerful tool that can handle any job. Top rated tool (my experience is that you only regret the cheap tools you bought, and I have bought a few).

great saw

Quite an impovement from my old 1578 jig saw. Blade change system is great. Other features are easy to use. Info about speeds and orbits is now great to get on the blade packaging.

Great tool

A well made and sturdy tool that takes care of business. I've used this on a number of sizes and shapes of wood and it doesn't disappoint. Only issue I've found is that with the longer saw blades it is difficult to ensure an accurate 90 degree cut, especially if there are curves involved. I'm hoping that will be resolved as I become more familiar and comfortable using this jigsaw.

Good but I really needed some of the other feature

I bought this and found it would not cut 1" hardwood stock perpendicular. It cut fast and with low vibration. But The blade (I use small blades for curves) kept wandering out of square. I also wanted the LED lights so I upgraded to the 572E. Hopefully that will be 5 stars.

This jig saw has a quality feel when used. It’s good weight for long projects and easy to use.
