Nonstandard install
Would Not RecommendIt's an over sized mailbox so, I understand that it's width would be greater than the standard install but, but the DEPTH of the box's install seat is 7/8". Most boards are 1/2 or 1 inch and there is no adapter.
Great looking mailbox! We had an old ugly one.
Would Not RecommendNOPE! Door fell off immediately after installation
Would Not RecommendI took about an hour to perfectly put on number stickers, remove the old mailbox, and then install this one, which seemed nice for the price point. IMMEDIATELY after installation, while admiring my work and raising/lowering the door, the door fell off ... The door WAS very cheaply attached to a narrow metal hinge with only a few solder points. I don't believe there is enough metal in the hinge to even do a repair, not that I should have to on a brand new product! If you don't want to waste time,...
Good purchase. Well made.
Would RecommendReally nice purchase. Easy to install and looks great!
Gibralter mail box * Stay Away
Would Not RecommendMost of the boxes are mis-labeled. For one reason or another. And the rust out quick. Avoid these at these prices. These boxes are worth about 2/3 less than the retail.
Closure Mechanism
Would Not RecommendThe only thing that holds the door closed on this mailbox is a small magnet mounted to the inside of the mailbox frame. I have had this mailbox mounted for about 2 months now and have found the door open at least 8 times now. Once it was open and it had rained so all my mail was soaked. I'm going to have to come up with some other mechanism to hold it closed. I do not recommend this product.
Wonderful
Would RecommendThe mailbox is strong, large and very durable. Can hold oversized envelopes and packages with ease.
