Recommended IF you are patient

The good: the lock is solid. The buttons have perfect tactile response. The flat black looks amazing. AND you have a key for backup. The not-so-good: The lock CONTINUALLY loses contact with the wifi and also with itself. It still works with bluetooth so you are not locked out (and remember you also have a key), but you have to do a whole thing when it loses itself - removing batteries, etc. to make it work properly again. Final: if you are patient and can handle small tech repairs, it's fine...

Well this was a huge dissapointment

The Keypad does not work. Only the app works, but we cannot giveo ut any codes to anyone because the keypad wont work or take in any codes. Defeated the whole purpose of the lock.

Wifi Failure

This lock was difficult to install because it did not match my current set up with the strike plate. But this is understandable. What doesn't make sense is the WiFi will not connect to the smart module. I have other devices connected to WiFi. Evidently it has to run on a 2.4G. I called my internet company and they directed my phone to run on 2.4G so I could set up the lock. Still no luck.

Insane battery drain

When it's working, it works great. Bought this in December 2022 (currently July 2023) and started running into battery drain problems in Late May - Early June 2023. Batteries will last a week maybe week and a half at best compared to the 1st time I installed it, it lasted months. Called support and did all their trouble shooting fixes (hard resets, making sure firmware is updated, making sure it's on 2.4 Ghz wifi band, turned off bluetooth and wifi, removed module, etc.) and nothing was stopp...

Nice Features but did not work

Installed the lock in the door. Would not "calibrate completely", would not connect to the house network. The app recognized the door and when I instructed it to "lock", the bolt would activate it but the app said that it was still "unlocked" and then gave a message that the deadbolt was jammed. Yale customer service gave me 2 completely different solutions. Returned them to the store for a full refund.

Could use better instructions for the App

Purchased this to replace a Kwikset keypad that died on me after two years. This one works directly with the internet rather than through my Home connection. Not sure whether that will be an improvement or not. The Home connector acted as a backup for all my user codes and kept me informed when users locked or unlocked the door. I can retrieve that info from the Yale lock but don''t receive the notifications automatically. You'll need the Yale App to control the lock and add and delete users. ...

HomeKit questionable

Lots of difficulty installing it. Supposed to work with HomeKit but still haven’t been able to connect it that way. Finally got the Bluetooth-WiFi working.

Great Yale lock. Newest design for fall 2022 that does not require a Wifi base hub. Small ,offered in touch screen or backlit keypad. all are Bluetooth. This one also Wifi. Key usage as well. Proximity is done via a Hall Effect magnet and is flakey and not reliable even tho installed precisely. The Android app works OK but when using the app the status of the lock is wrong half the time. I tried this app on several mobile devices with same results. It can't tell if the door is open-closed or loc...
