Really good motion sensor

Unfortunately, I bought this to turn on from dusk to dawn to put light on a flag. It was intermittent, and did not meet the requirement. I went back toLowe’s and talked to an associate. He suggested a dawn to dusk light bulb. I screwed this bulb into the garage socket, and it worked perfectly. I took the Woods, In/Out socket, and screwed it into the other garage socket. Now, that light only comes on with movement, and the flag is lit with the special bulb. All lighting needs are met.

Dont work

I bought 2 today and installed them during the day, the first one I installed the light just stayed on and didnt turn off and the second did the same I also put my flash light on the photo cell thinking it would turn off but the light didnt turn off

Very poor product.

As others have stated, this socket turns on an off. It would turn on at twilight, burn for 20 seconds or so, then go off. It would turn on again about 20 seconds later, then repeat. I would look elsewhere for a dusk/dawn socket. I returned mine to Lowes the next day, and we bought a Utilitec socket. I have had it installed for three nights, and it has worked well so far.

Doesn’t work.

Packing clearly states the product works with LED bulbs, but it did not. Flashes off and on intermittently in complete darkness.

Easy peasy

I was forever forgetting to turn off my lights at the end of my driveway in the morning - now I leave it on and forget about it! Such a simple idea but a great convenience and money saver!

Dusk to dawn

The garage lights don’t have a timer on the switch. They worked wonderly to have garage lights come on when I come home late. Since I don’t have a timer on the switch light, I just leave the switch on and works perfect.

Random on/off

I bought 2 and returned both. Dusk to dawn but randomly would go on and off. Not helpful when you are unloading items from your car.

Socket w/ photo cell

Simple, functional solution to energy conscience security light.

Good alternative

Using this is a lot easier than trying to figure out how to install a sensor. Put a bulb in it and screw it into the socket.

Woods In/Out Socket W/Photocell White

Seems to work better than the older model as it turns off under my eaves more readily after the sun comes up. The older ones tend to stay on if there is light cloud cover. Better sensitivity now.

NON-RELIABLE PHOTOCELL DEVICE FOR A PORCH FIXTURE

I tried this product in 6 porch lights. It did light the lamp when it became dark, but failed to turn it off at daylight. I believe the problem is the lack of ability to aim the sensor directly towards the light-my experience was that the sensor faced the rear or the side of the fixture rather than directly into the light. Woods' hardwire photocells work perfectly, but this screw-in device needs to be modified such that the sensor can be directed. The spring-loaded pin doesn't supply this re...
